Can't get much closer - about 5 miles from my place.
Unimaginable horror for those poor children....not to mention the adults

That is the home town of a friend and Co-worker. His sister still lives nearby there. Very sad
As is said, it is a small world and something like this affects us all in someway.

Happy Holidays to all of you too.
Had a great Christmas with family.
Now waiting for the Nor'easter to hit...looking at where to go skiing
Then there are the thoughts of that next track day dancing in the back of my head (May 4-5th at VIR?)
BTY - TrackMasters has listed their 2013 Schedule:

What? You've got all winter. What else do you have to do with your time during these long winter days?
Really - hope it it is coming along well. Any more pictures?

Maybe I'll drive up there and try for some spy photos.

Looks like SCDA is open for registration. And they have a lot of LRP days this time around.

I counted 13 dates at Lime Rock this season! Perhaps Ian should rename his group Lime Rock Drivers Association!

GVC has announced their season and it starts with a set of weekend dates, less than 4 months from now. Who's up for May 3 - 5?

Can't book anything until the car is close to being done. I think the one unmuffled day would be my only option anyway and that's the end of June?? Doesn't matter...
Just waiting...

Am thinking of getting my track fix this year. Fast losing whatever little track skills I have left.
Perhaps I would try the Skippy Two Day Advance Race School again. Maybe Sebring or ???? Anyone game?

Hmmmmm....isn't that, like, in Florida
I would wear my car (and me) out just getting down there.
However, I am signed up for WGI on May 5 & 6 w/GVC BMWCCA
I've got 2 sets of Dunlop Z1s that just won't wear out that have to get gone before I switch to the Toyo R888s I bought.
What about a couple of days at VIR? I could maybe fit that place in.

You don't need your own car with Skippy. They provide their formula mazda open wheel or the spec racing miata MX5 for the event. They will pump the gas and do all the maintenance between sessions. Just bring your own shoes, gloves and helmet if you want. I do not have a suitable vehicle for track on the mainland anymore.
Did a few advance race schools many moons back and they run more than 4 hours track time and three hours of instruction a day. I think we had over 6 hours a day track time at Laguna Seca where only 12 of us signed up. You do really learn a lot from these guys as they are pros.

Thats a decent idea. I think I need some good instruction to eliminate some back habits I picked up in the break.
