Most of this group is in the Northeast. So probably not. A bunch of us are going to the IMSA race at Lime Rock Park on Friday. Then I do an autocross on Sunday and then back to LRP to check out a new track event organizer.
I have heard a lot of good things about these SCCA events and they are a good deal for the track time you get. Have fun and let us know how you make out.

S-Driver - thanks for posting. I also found it on the IMSA web page! And I found Friday's schedule I'll look for you when I am wandering around.
I've never gone in that entrance. This will all work out well. This is near where zre parks his butt to watch. I think I'll keep the coral ticket.
Anyone know whatever happened to the two drivers that were in that really bad accident that happened in that last race we were at?

Installed Way BBK for rear brakes. Everything went together nicely. A little stretch for the brake line but fit okay. No issue with emergency brake line. Found the rear dust boots torn, now have to replace them. Pain to find kit but got from Auto Parts Warehouse.
Roll Bar taken out and painted, will have installed for this weekend. See you at LRP.

That Cage looks nice It looks like a bolt in cage. Do you have different more pictures. What size are does bars? They look super beefy.
The seat should fit with no problem. I just got 2 OMP TRS-E XL for $300 a pop and they are entry level seats. The seat you got looks like it cost $1,000+ for $200 it not bad at all good find.
The OMP TRS-E XL are pretty wide at 21" at it wides and they fit with no problem even with the door panels installed (door panels will eventually come out in the future for me). that seat you have looks a lot smaller. The PWC car i drove last when i went to the track, had the OMP HTR XL and it fit a second Gen Mini. I'm going back to that track tomorrow (Today since it after 12 and i should be in bed lol) and they will be there. They said they are going to bring both cars this time. I will more then likely be on the track with them. Ill take picture of the interior. They have a full cage with door bars and all and the HTR-XL fits fine.
Eddie you said you found a new Company's/clubs/groups to run with what is there website, if they have any and have you actually made it out to the track with them?
Really want to go to WGI, before the season is up. trying to avoid going in the Oct/Nov if they still open.
Any run company's/clubs/groups going to WGI in August or September.
Does any company's/clubs/groups do a night track day. Think that would be cool to experience.
This is the cage i ordered from autopower

Went to the track today. It was crazy hot and after 4 session i called it quits. Had one casualty, my windshield got a crack. So guess i have to go fix that this week.
Funny thing is, After i made it back from the track my HAN by Zamp Series 1A shows up. it pretty affordable and very versatile.
It will replace my donut.
Casualty of the day
This cap on this reservoir really sucks this is my 3rd one. I think I'm just going to go get something with a Standard radiator cap. After ever session when i lifted the hood all you saw was steam coming out.
Here is the pictures of the seat fitting into one of the PWC cars.

Hey, it was great to meet up at LRP last Friday. I've been busy since then with an autocross and a house project.
The roll bar that zre has is about as slick as it gets!
I will be looking at that as my next winter project. Zre noted that it has stiffened up the back of the car. I have heard this from others who have installed roll bars and cages. You may want to look at "unstiffening" the rear suspension a bit after installing one of these to make sure you haven't introduced too much oversteer.
HaveATank - Too bad about the windshield. I've had that happen going to the track but not at the track.
As for the new track group, they are called "Track Time 4 Cars"
http://tracktime4cars.com/event_schedule.php
They don't go to WGI, but they do go to LRP and NJMP. I haven't run with them and have a bit of a concern about the control they have over the drivers. They have passes anywhere with a point-by. But I am concerned that it may encourage the event to be a bit of a free-for-all I was going to check them out today, but opted to work at my home projects, plus the weather looked iffy.
As for other track events, check out MotorSportsReg.com:

They pretty much list everything there is. There are a few events listed for WGI between now and October.
I'll be there Aug 17-18 with GVC for their advanced driver school. My next event after that will likely be the Patroons event Sept 10 at LRP.

I was looking at this event, But they wont let me use my M helmet. I purchased it back in 2012 or 2013 when i started not knowing the difference between an SN and M helmet and really don't feel like spending the money for an SA10 or SA15 helmet (Racequip makes a really affordable one). I mean the only difference between the two is the fire resistance, But i really want to experience WGI. I contacted them to see what i would have to do to get in the event hope they don't make me sign up for the club lol.
Go the cage today

Looks like you have quite a bit of work to do with all those parts. How are you going to mount the seats? Been debating on mounting system. Purchased Brey Krause brackets for the Recaro that fit a MINI but trying to figure how to mount to car so it is interchangeable with current stock installation without much changeover. Purchased resistor for airbag system, connectors to add for interface.
Eddie07S said BMW Club recommends fixed seat base, so need to design tie-in from bracket to car.

The car clubs have odd rules. The Porsche club requires a fire extinguisher. I asked at the last BMW event and asked when was the last time they had had a car fire - never. Audi requiring a SA helmet is just as rediculous. It only gives fire protection. The only catch is, there are no fires at these events. SM helmets are allowed every other group.
zre - As for race seat - think about 5 or 6 point harnesses and a HANS device. This way you don't need to rely on the air bags and the explosive device in the buckle. The Quickfit pro is 5/6 point as well as HANS device compatible. I'm going to talk to HMS as to whether I can do this with the stock seats by making use of the lower bar in you roll bar.

As I said above, I did an autocross this past weekend. This was me first event since doing a bunch of mods last year. Last year I installed a 27mm front sway bar, a 25mm hollow rear sway bar, poly front lower control arm bushings and the Quaife LSD. I already had the IE fixed camber plates set at -1.5 deg. All of this is setting on on MINI sport springs and Bilstein B8 shocks. I dialed in -2 deg rear camber and have the RSB set softest. This makes for quite a quick track car with a lot of stability.
All the wrong things for an autocross car, right?
Wrong!
This track car makes for a pretty darn good autocross car. Very good turn-in and cornering in everything except the tightest of turns where push dominated. There, a stiffer RSB would help. I, also am curious about the shocks. They supposedly came from a champion autocross car, but they seem soft to me for autocross although they are good on the track.
Well, so much for the theory that you need to get rid of the front sway bar to make a MINI handle well.
