Also found a good source of methanol in the Bay Area. Priced at $3.25 per gallon, and you can bring your own container (min. 5 gallon). They also offer various racing fuels (for off-road use only, of course! ).

No specific names were mentioned, but if he had made any reference to that "crazy guy with the enviable MINI in Michigan," it would be fairly obvious who he was talking about.

I didn't ask ERC about shipping, but their website front page (above the Champion logo) states "UPS, stage, air freight shipments." Seems like a good bet to me - call toll-free at (800) 445-1479 if you'd like to find out more firsthand.

If anyone is interested, I am selling my Alta/Perrin (Aquamist) setup in the marketplace.

May I inquire why you are selling your WI setup? What are you going to (or what are your plans)?

Can't wait to see your install and results, Herbie. I was originally planning on just going with a Stage 1 system from Coolingmist and giving it some time to determine whether I need to upgrade to a progressive controller, but I couldn't resist the temptation of spending money to save money.

Sid, when you were running the UniChip, did you ever simply flip the switch to use Map B (100 octane) to see if you could reap the benefits of increased timing without actually "tuning" for the WI?

You can't be on all the time. I'll give it a shot once I've got the system together - my local UniChip tuner was telling me that performance on Map B depends in large part on how the car responds to WI. When I told him about the IATs at 10F below ambient in your MINI, the tuner conceded that it sounded promising. I've got my hopes up!

Does anyone know if there is an equation to calculate how much the effective octane rating would be, given the flow rate of a 50/50 meth/H20 mixture and any other factors, when used with 91 octane fuel?
