Lookin for oil/coolant sender locations...

I suppose its a good place for this, was wondering if anyone knows if theres a place for an oil pressure sender, wanted to add some gauges sooner or later. Figure boost when the silicone hoses from alta come in, and oil pressure would be wonderful, maybe a coolant temp too. Any ideas or help? Or if anything can read it off the stock ecu, like an msd dashhawk or something?

Thanks!!
Josh

I've been using this:

http://www.scangauge.com/

Doesn't do oil temp/pressure. Easy plug and play into OBDII port.

But I like oil pressure gauges , I had read about some other OBDII scanners but they don't do oil pressure either. I've tried to look under the hood but, it sure is crowded!

Hey guys, remind me tomorrow to ask ALTA2 / Jeff in my office. Not only do I think he knows where to tap in (mechanically) I believe we have the adapter thingy so you can mount the probe etc. No promises!

Thanks Adam.
It would be great if some of the vendors could forward such info. I think it would help there sales. " If I can't install it,,,,,I can't purchase it.
PS I was thinking of Electrical not mechanical oil pressure and water temp. As an aside, I think I need to keep the original senders for the Minis computer. Any thoughts?

Thanks Again, Carl

You do need to keep the OEM sensors, yes. My bad, I thought you were looking for mechanical setups. You may be able to tap into the OEM sensors for the signals. I honestly dont' know how universal the outputs are to gauges. Might be a-ok.

In reference to your first comment, this is one of the reasons why I post here. We (the company) can miss things, and I don't want to be that way period. PLUS, I love the MINI, the Mini and this community. So anything I can do even from a personal standpoint is fun for me as well.

Again, sorry for the misread! Must have been that last glass of wine!

Let me know if I can help further!

Ok, Cravenspeed has the Pod setup thats cool, they also list an adapter for the oil sender, I have no idea on the water temp probe yet. I even found the gauges that I would like to use. One problem.....I still havn't found the sensor locations on the R56S. Now with all this tak about CAI and Turbo back kits, has no one seen the sending units for gauges? Help, Please I only has a limited time to spend the money, or my wife get a new washer & dryer
Go figure.

Thanks again, Carl
