New pics with coilovers

Installed the coilovers myself yesterday. It took approximately 3 hours to remove stock setup and install the new coilovers.

Handling of the car improved drastically. With the stock set up, I was feeling that the car would be driven away from the bend at high speeds but now the car sticks to the road so well that I don`t worry anymore. Now its completely a different car with better handling and looks.

Looks good, but dang that IMHO is still a huge wheel gap for coilovers.

Wow, very nice. How is the ride, fully loaded with friends, on the highway? Do you bottom out? The car really looks great with coil-overs. I had them on my old 2002 MINI Cooper, but never quite got them adjusted properly and the ride quality suffered a bit.

Front looks good...maybe the back could be dropped down just a tad. Looks great either way! Nice work!

Thanks. Never tried fully loaded but entered large bumps on the highway and no rubbing issues But I will remove the lip under the front bumper because there is only 2 inches gap between the road and the lip.

The car has a great stance and fwiw, the red interior and clear turn signals are nice touches

great car! Are those pics from a University in Ankara? BTW, there is a front rake, unless you are on a slight slope, you may want to reconsider lowering the back a little. Good Job

I believe you know Ankara or you just guessed from my titles. I took the pictures where I live. Actually this area is very close to the Universities.

Yes I`m on a slight slope but at the same time there is a front rake as well. I did not lower the back, I raised the front a little because it was real low. Thanks for the comments

It looks good. Height is similar to those with only eibach springs.
Remove the plastic parts under the front bumper, they seem very close to the floor...

A friend of mine has put on some D2 coilovers with compression, extension and height settings... For the track he uses -6 cm front and -5,5 rear. The car looks very cool, hugging the tarmac and aggressive. He has the aerokit, so no plastics under the front bumper.

No. If you look at his picture of the rears, he's got ~1 inch of thread left below the lower spring perch. He also said he's already raised the front a little to gain extra ground clearance.

Exactly yes! If i would lower the car all the way down, the front lip would touch the ground.

I'm in the same boat. As it is, the little plastic tab that runs crosswise under the front of the car scrapes lightly over some speedbumps or when I reach the bottom of a sloped driveway, so I think I have it just about right. There's slightly more wheel gap in the front of my car than in the rear, so I really should raise the rear a bit, but I'm happy with the way it rides and looks.

Here's a recent picture. The difference in wheel gap is a little bit exaggerated here, because I'm parked tail-down on a sloped road:

Very nice looking car. I agree you should rise rear a bit.
By the way, if you park the car on a slope, the front of the car is looking upwards and pulled the handbrake, rear will rise.
Opposite direction will lower the rear.

Just wondering if this is a R56 set up? Or is it a R53 set up putted onto the R56?

Thanks!

Been almost a month, how you like the coilovers?

It is R56 setup. Handling is perfect but I would prefer the ride a little softer.

You said it took you only 3 hours to install these...have you installed coilovers on a Mini or some other car before?

Thanks!

yeah how much did those coil overs cost? are those 'real' coilovers meaning they come with shocks or no? if no, did u change the stock shocks and do you have sports suspension? im thinking of lowering my car but i dont know if i want 'real' coilovers or coilovers or just springs. im know im not gonna ever change the settings because ive never changed it on my gsr. plus i have sports suspension so im leaning towards just springs. what do you guys think

Yes, they are H&R and you cand find them from the above link. They are real coilovers completely with shocks and springs.
This was the first time I was installing a suspension setup.
