Hey guys, are the G-Tech's any good? Or is there something similar that is good? I haven't used one, but thought I might for some of the info you guys are looking for. Let me know!

I haven't...I guess I could...I do have that G-Tech Pro which measures those cause I probably wont be going to a drag strip to do that....I would guess with intake and exhaust along with limited slip diff., 0-60 should be high 5 second, don't know 1/4 mile, maybe low 14 or high 13.

I don't have too much to base this off of besides some experience with my current car (R56 MCS as well) and what I've read of your setup, but I would venture to say that your 1/4mi times would be more in the mid-14s than high-13s.

Hook it up and see. I'd be interested in what the G-Tech says.

WOW!!!! I'm really impressed! Did you happen to time a few runs stock?

I've been meaning to ask you, Will you be swapping back to stock when it comes time for your first smog check or have other plans?

No times when the car was stock, Road and Track along with other magazines got 6.2.....not a big fan of doing hard 0-60 runs cause I don't want to damage stuff, so it can be faster.......I have all the stock stuff (exhaust, intake) that I can put on if I need to for anything, but on a new car isn't the first smog in like 4 years?....if so, I wont be living in california then so it wont matter anyway.

G-tech Pro is suppose to be pretty good. The E90/92 guys have confirmed it's accuracy at the drag strip on many occasions.

Alta Cat Back with JCW Aerokit issue...

I installed the Alta Cat Back with the JCW Areo kit and it actually was within an 1/8 of an inch of newly installed kit. I didn't have the room in my garage to get under the car so I took it to a exhaust house. We ended up cutting the pipe and rewelding it to adjust the clearance.

So, if you have the Aero Kit you may run into the same issue I did. Other than that it sounds great and looks awesome.

It did take a while for the car to run smoothly and the first drive was with the check engine light on for a while (and yes I did disconnect the -battery post multiple times).

Very happy and so is my Mini. I just installed the ALTA boost kit and CAI and it is very sweeet. You can hear the turbo and the feel the power. I highly recommend these upgrades.

I totally agree. Man do those heat sheilds suck!!! I just did mine today.I think most of the install time went to the sheilds! Did anyone else have issues with the top O2 sensor not lining up with the hole? I had to modify mine.
My only regret now is that I am on limp along mode too like a few others here(150miles). I just wanted to be able to get everything off before it set in and rusted up a bit. Aside from that, it sounds killer and looks mean.

Any pics? I have the JCW Aero kit and I'd like to see what you are talking about. Thanks.

Yeah the heatshields took forever, had to use the old electric tape on the nut trick to get them going w/ a ratcheting open-ended wrench. I also had to open up the hole for the O2 sensor a little bit, I think I could have made it work w/ the hole that was there, but I got tired of trying to do it.

Yeah, I made mine work but didn't like the shield rubbing on it, so I took the sensor off and opened it up a bit. Its not pretty but I'm thinking of getting some exhaust tape to finish the edges up a bit unless someone else has a better idea.

On the JCW kit can I get a photo of that too? I need to see how we can best address the need for more clearance. I BELIEVE we can include washers to go between the OEM mounts and the body to space it down a bit more. Thanks for the feed back guys. (I will also look at the O2 sensor thing as well. I clearanced mine a bit but after I was done I think I was just not putting the shield on correctly.)

Thanks again everyone!

Turbo back replace the entire exhaust system from where it attachs to the turbo all the way to the tips....catback is just from the where cats end to tips.
