Drivetrain M7 Testing Unichip and more

Any air-fuel graphs?
The 335 guys are concerned about the air-fuel mixture on the TurboTuner not being rich enough and the unit relies on the know sensore to dial back timing to prevent know and tolerate the lower ratio.
It seems to work fine.
I'm excite new software if finally showing up for the R56.

Hi guys......
Sorry for the delay getting back regarding some questions.
First I like to thank Unichip for the opportunity of getting the first test unit
on our car.....
As this was an R&D unit splicing the wiring harness in to
the MINI harness was left to Johnny at Johnny's Auto Clinic as I was way to
nervous to take it on myself...Hehehehe. No such worries for customers as
the unit will come with custom made connectors to make installation super easy.
There some questions about the drop in torque at lower rpm with the silicone tube. The answer is pretty simple, the Unichip module was tuned with stock parts in mind (for now) and I will send up some new M7 products to Unichip for specific re-tuning to reflect the specific changes.
The other big issue we had on the dyno was excessive heat in the intercooler as it is almost impossible to mimic real world air-flow over the IC thus getting strange readings (on the dyno) at times.
The tube did indeed make a very palpable difference as 11ftlbs of torque
did add another layer of performance and driving strength.
As you can see from the graphs, real world driving turns in to an absolutly
fantastic experience. Point and shoot, and your through traffic in a breath,
and that's in 6th gear. Be adventurous put it in 5th or even fourth gear while doing 60mph and the torque will shove you in to the seat with amazing authority....very addicting indeed.
We will have more specifics and technical specs (including boost/A/F ratios) for the Unichip module very soon with pricing and availabillity.
And I like to invite anyone in the Los Angeles area to come and visit
us for a comprehensive test drive.

Pete, Any chance that somewhere in time you'll have a chance to put a R56 with an auto trans with similar mods on the dyno? I'm liking what I'm reading - a lot.

Good afternoon friends....
Mike and Wendy feel free to visit anytime, just call to make sure I'm around.
We will most certainly look at the Auto trans, with the caveat that the Torque
has to be kept in check to prevent the gearbox from dissintegrating...
I will talk to the good guys at Unichip to see if we can produce a non-Turbo
MC uppgrade.
More fab products are going on the car this afternoon for some testing and
development... This is indeed exciting times.

Hi there....
Will it blow out the Auto tranny, who knows only testing will verify if there's
any issues...Stay tuned.
Here's an other new product comming very soon The M7 R56 Ram Scoop
Now available for pre-orders at $199.
The shape is really complimenting the hoodlines of the R56, adding a little more dynamics and shape to the hoodline. And as expected this scoop will add much needed underhood cooling.
Designed and shaped by our own JS here at NAM.

Depending on the month your R56 was built, the scoop may already be functional (I think mid-March and after). I believe this scoop is slightly raised with a larger mouth.

Hi there...
I will take another image of the (now warped) stock hoodscoop so you can compare surface area and shape.
Yes the intake is currently running on the yellow car and it's a treat to have it in the car. I might have a something to show shortly

As promissed I will have some images for comparison later this afternoon
(after I close the doors for the evening here in California). We have a lot of experience with hoodscoops from the R53 as you might know,
and even a little bit more aggressive frontal shape will give you tremendous airflow improvements. With that said we will have an even more agressive shaped scoop with vortex generators more aking to our Extreme hoodscoop
fairly soon.
