Need Beta Testers for Helix R56 ECU

Hey Ladies and Gents,

We've made some progress with our R56 ECU and are getting closer to bringing it to market. We're going to be needing some beta testers for our R56 ECU fairly soon. We should be ready to start by the end of next week/early the week after.

Here is the dyno chart Eric posted a few weeks back. A solid 25whp and 25 lb ft gain!

If you live around the Philadelphia area and would like to be a beta tester for the ECU, just post here, or let us know via email or phone call by the end of next week.

Cheers

Interesting how all the ECU charts we are seeing (inlcuding the JCW) lose a fair amount of low end HP and torque. That sucks!

Sweet! Is this a piggyback or internal ECU mod?

nothing was changed that low in the tune tables so the "loss" of power has to be attributed to when Eric went full throttle on the dyno.

I'm in NJ but I'd have to do break in before being able to help out. If you are still looking for a beta tester in a month I might be interested.

No problem. Contact us when you are done with your break-in and let us know. We may need another person.

Why are the baseline numbers seemingly low? I thought the stock R56 put out 177ft lbs (without overboost). Ive also heard the published numbers were on the conservative side. What am I missing? Is it wheel power vs. engine power? Please excuse my ignorance. I know a little less than it takes to be dangerous.

I live near Philly and would be interested in hearing more about the beta. My biggest concern would be warranty considerations. Thanks, James

also the warranty question. is this a piggyback or what? i fully trust your company and all, and if all goes well and i am a beta tester and i do like it, i will be purchasing it, but in the mean time while i have it, would there be any major concerns?

177ft/lbs is the factory crank claim for the R56 Mini cooper S which translates to a 14% drivetrain loss. 14% is pretty standard for a fwd vehicle so factoring the 14% change to the new "tuned" torque figure gives you...206 ft/lbs of torque and 211hp

Most likely dyno variance as I've seen Alta curves that show more HP and torque in a stock car.
