Sorry to revive an old thread but I am thinking about doing the resonator eliminator on my R53.. I am 100% stock right now but I like the idea of making the car a tad louder and throatier without having to do a full cat back system...

Does anyone have a sound clip of a R53 with just the resonator eliminator installed? I saw one youtube of an R56... Will it sound close to that? http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=XJlD8gJvDUI

I stopped by Minspeed yesterday and Pete wasn't in (he was on vacation).. The book keeping lady there didn't know much about the products....

I just got back from my local muffler shop and they tell me that I don't have a resonator on my car since it's Supercharged... (2006 MCS)...

They went under the car and told me that the only thing there is the cat converter which they won't remove....

Anyone have a pic of what the resonator should look like?

Thanks

The resonator on an R53 is the right side (passanger side) muffler. This is the One-ball mod...there are literally hundreds of posts about it on the R53 forum.

I actually have the Minspeed Exhaust and its a really nice piece I love the sound and the looks but wanted a bit more since I had a Dodge SRT-4 and love the popping sounds and how much throattier it was.
I took it to the mufffler shop to get the resonator removed and they did not do the type of job I expected since I feel there is some sort of leak and make a whistle kind of sound and just a bit louder so I'm seriously considering just ordering the pipe and call it a day and have a complete product.
I think that having the Minspeed Exhaust and this pipe will make a much better sound than with a stock exhaust.
BTW the guy at Minspeed is awesome to talk to and know his products very well. Give him a call.

Got it... Thanks... I am searching now... That's why it was a mystery to them.

should cost you about 30 bucks no more than 40 and it gives it a nice sound at least better than stock

Got it done yesterday... Sounds much better IMO, not like an after market exhaust but definitely much better...

Thanks for the Miami Muffler recommendation.... Ask for Miguel... He knows how to do the one ball mod now!

Love the gargling...

Thanks everyone!

Just a side note about the misfit of the Minspeed resonator pipe.
Pete has posted that this issue has been fixed and will fit correctly.
I believe that he also has upgraded the clamps.
I am going to see them this weekend and am pretty sure I will install.
I think there is a new catback in the works and am interested in seeing that!
