Drivetrain Pulley party report with pictures from the NorCal party! UP
#26
Interestingly enough, the day before I did the pulley and ECU, I had the dealer service my car and reflash the ECU (sorry, I don't know what version), and the cold start problem disappeared and the stumble was barely noticeable if at all. With with EVOTECH ECU mod, the cold start issue might have returned (only a couple of starts so far, but did not start the first time). And I get an occasional slight stumble in 1st, at first excelleration, could be operator error however . I will post more details after a week or so.

My before and after at Ray's Dyno shop:
Base run: 162.6 WHP, 143.3 Torque
(That an early '02 model with only BMP Intake and Jack-in-the-box antenna ball)
After Pulley and ECU mod: 177.7 WHP, 160.0 Torque
Stock exhaust, 16x 6 1/2 AK tyres Monza wheels with Bridgestone S-03's
That's a 15 WHP gain. That "After" dyno run was at 97 deg. f.
I will go back to Ray's shop and do another Dyno run in a few weeks, after
the ECU learned about it's new "Master".
I think I'll get Ray to install a rear sway bar and springs while I'm there.

Thanks to Ray and TonyB for helping make this event happen!
I had a blast with all of you. Always interesting doing the dyno testing - it's great that so many folks got to see the vast variance from car to car to realize what part the dyno plays - just a small part of the picture. Track testing and performance runs are a big part too in developing performance products.
I hope you all have fun with your newfound power and friends!
