Drivetrain Turbo Manifold build...

Took a week off work and did nothing but work on this for 8 days straight from 3pm till 7am until it was finished. I have to take more pix of everything together, but you get the gist. I fired it up at 7am on Tues morning and only have a few small issues to adjust before a temp tune and roadtest. Hope you enjoy, as there is not allot showing how much thought and design went into this from the pix, I am just happy I knocked it all out one very long week. I must say thanks to my buisness partner Tom for helping and adding allot of the creativity in the design, I let him run with some of it, as I just kept the welding table hot.

Woohooo Trickle finally got it done. Just checked out the pics on your photobucket and the intercooler plumbing is pretty trick. I like the way you went through that one factory mount for the cold side of the intercooler. I really like the special touch with the skull in the front bumper support..... was it one of those ADD episodes while working

Thanks guys...
I am running into a few snags....for one my starter died, was making some awful noise, had me going back over the turbo looking for it till it snapped and died, then the car sounded fantastic until I shut it down and it wouldnt restart...lol Got a replacement starter today, but it wouldnt fit as it ended up being one for an auto. Have another one coming, but prolly wont be here til monday. I snapped off the oil port for the turbo removing the top start bolt, so I had to pull my oil filter housing back out and will have to re-weld that. Now on to my biggest snag....my FX600 CM clutch wont dis-engage. I can not get it into gear while running. I went back and perused my pix from when i installed in 1.5 years ago, all looks well, but i could either possibly have the plates in backwards(has happened to me b4 at 3am on an audi TT) or I could need to re-bleed out my new slave cylinder to get more pressure on it. That is going to be the caviet to making it to the tune. Everything else is fine so-far....

Hey Cole sick job on finishing up the manifold!! And very ingenious on the IC piping layout using all aspects of the bumper and crash beams... Looking forward to seeing it all with the bumper and hood down!! ![Thumbs Up](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb-up.gif)
As far as the clutch issue... Sound exactly like what we're going thru with Sushi's car... Only we just decided to pull the trans last night. More than likely a slave issue as they are known to be bad freom the dealer. Installed a new clutch and pressure plate none the less and even throwout bearing... Triple check that slave before pulling your trans, unless your just bored and forgot what it looks like in there![LOL](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
Again, great job on the manifold and piping!!!

ok....I am now having a starter issue...it will not disengage from the flywheel. It is the alum CM flywheel. I measured the distance from the block to the gear ring and have 28.5mm, unfortunely I can not find in any documentation what the distance should be. I measured the distance on the starter gear while disengaged and it is 26mm, so it has 2.5mm of clearance when it should be disengaged. It is hanging up on the flywheel ring and not retracting and burning up the starter (went through 2). I may space the starter out a few mm to see if this resolves this, but does anyone or can anyone take a measurement of the flywheel ring to the block? If not, I will have to pull the transmission and send the flywheel back to CM to inspect, which will put me out of the tune next week for sure. I may just push start it thought to get it there, but it makes it a real pia to finish troubleshooting the rest of the car....

Clutch Masters sent me a new flywheel, I have installed it and the engine and tranny are back in the car and that is about it. I hope to get some time this weekend to finish hooking everything back up and testing the starter and new flywheel. I've just been to busy working on everyone else's stuff to finish anything of my own. But soon...real soon!!

I am very proud to report and on my Bday at no-less, this BEAST is running, and running better than ever. It drives 10x better then it ever did when twin-charged. It is super smooth, and faster than I ever imagined it would be. I am only boosting to 16psi, currently, but it is easily putting down more power than it did twin-charge running at 27 psi. I haven't gone WOT yet, just 50%, until I get a few more miles on the new engine and I make sure no oil/coolant/boost/hydraulic lines aren't popping off, nor anything else that I may of missed since I have built and tore it down at least 5 times with my prior clutch disengaging issues.
I just have a few things I need to sort out as every once and a while I go into limp mode if I give it too much throttle from low rpm.
I am one happy man!
