Congratulations! Glad its all running again! Wait till you run it at 25psi, it will tear up the tarmac if you have grippy enough tyres.

Personally I went off big turbos very quickly and have downgraded. The best turbo I have found so far for response and high HP is the GT2871 with the 0.64A/R turbine housing. Now boosting at 2,000rpm, full boost from 3,500rpm-8,000rpm. Far quicker than only boosting from 6-8,000rpm and no lag between gear changes.

Thanks! I actually run a 2871 on my Audi TT, so I am familiar with its spooling characteristics, however I am amazed how well this spools and it seems along with the gearing, I never have to drop below 3.5k anyways.

I am running a T3 housing, so my manifold would only support T3's and the 2871 only comes in a T25. I have a fully ported head and larger exhaust vlaves, so it breaths rather quite nicely. I really thought it would be more laggy, for now I can totally live with it!

Just maybe....it seems like it wants to run. As soon as I am content and trust she is going to stay together, I will put her up on the dyno and do a base run. Currently I am tuning with the Apexi AFC still.

Put new endlinks on her today, I had a stocker pop off so I decided to put on some adjustables. I am waiting for some PS fluid yet since I am bone dry and I have no PS currently. Hopefully it will be here before the weekend. Weds morning I hit 21psi on the way home without going full throttle yet. I was kind of shocked it spooled that high. My Boost controller isnt even adjusted yet. It was cooler temps though, so that does make a difference.

Will have more to report after the weekend!

My favorite part of your build is the integration of the intake to the front bullhorn. Great stuff

Thanks guys....I wish I could take credit for the intake horn, but that idea came from my buisness partner and I was like man that is a lot of work and really wanted to do it an easier way, but there was no real options that wouldnt look out of place, so I said why not. I let him cut it up, and I welded it. It turned out pretty slick and when running 2.5" tubing everywhere you need as much space as you can get!

I've been driving her pretty modest but when I get on the pipe it runs straight and I dont have much torque steer, it just goes....feels like I am riding a sportbike. I haven't tried any digs, but I really didnt build it to dig. The twincharge setup dug really nice, but it was not as smooth up top in the rpm range and had rediculous two hands on the steering wheel torque steer.

Oh and did I mention the sound?

I actually started to shoot some stuff this weekend....but alas it is going to have to wait as I had a catosphophic failure Sunday morning.....My oil cooler line came apart and I am pretty sure the engine was damaged, to what extent is not certain. I may of also damaged the turbo. I will be tearing it down this weds and will know more then. The real kick in the nuts came when I called my roomate to come pick me up at 4am only for my TT to breakdown on the way back home. So Sunday afternoon I spent loading each car in my trailer and towing home...Today I fixed the TT as it turned out to be a broken engine mount. I wont be able to get to the MINI until Weds, but I should have it out and apart before the weekend.

For the record the oil cooler was the Moss Motors oil cooler. They crimp their lines and it separated at the crimp. By the time I noticed the oil lite was on, the damage was done. I am disappointed in myself for using that line as I had one fail before and they replaced it with a different line that wasnt crimped.

Tested compression today...cylinder 4 had no compression in dry test, under wet test I had 40psi...the other 3 cylinders all had 160~170psi...looks like I lost the rings in cylinder #4, will have it out and apart tomorrow...looks like for now will need to go .30 over with new pistons...and replace all the bearings whether they want to or not...

What's up with Kalbone's? Dont worry it will be back on the road very soon, depending on the availability of parts...

Yeah I need to tear it apart yet to see how much I need to go...I wanted to get to it today, but I had other things come up....before the weekend for sure. I had CP pistons in there on stock rods...was thinking I may want to do the rods as well this time.

Yup familar with that MINI...we started at the same time building, only I took 3 years longer...hahaha Only 12k miles though...not driven much and it has the dual CM clutch disc which I took out cuz it would be a real pia to drive everyday. I have a new one sitting in the box if anyone wants it....flywheel and all! FX600
