...there are a few people that have been breathing down my neck to start this
I talked to Randy about doing a Detroit Pulley Party. He suggests we try it out for early December (works for me, my new MINI will be broken in by then!)

We need at least 15 people to get this moving. Obviously the dates are flexible, but it is typically a 3 day weekend for Randy, with up to 7 pulley installs per day, starting at 8am. People wanting their ECU done must get there early in the morning so your code can be sent off and remapped.

I am hosting the event. I live in Waterford a northwest suburb of Detroit. The winter temps are no problem, my 3.5 car garage is heated and insulated If you're in Ohio or Ontario, this is just a short drive away!

let me know if you're interested (PM or e-mail)
Cheers,
Ryan

Can't miss the oppurtunity to meet Randy !!!

How much for a pulley installed ?

Picked up my BRG MCS on Friday.

I am in Roseville, are you near Waterford Hills Raceway ?? I might be too close to miss this.

The Pulley is $400 installed, and definitely the best power per dollar of any MCS mod.

The installation takes about an hour, but I'm sure you'll want to stick around for a few hours to chat and get to know some other MINIAC's!

...and yes, Waterford Hills Raceway is just up the road

Also, I had my first MINIs pulley installed at 5k miles, just to be on the ultra-safe side. 2minis is the lowest miles MCS I've heard of having a pulley installed; it had 800 at the time. It's still running strong, he just got back from a cross-country trek! Another note is that there have been zero, yes zero problems with reliability to date

Must, fight, warranty, fears, Ok, I have to come and hangout at the very least. If only to get a ride in a car with one. Keep me in the loop. Put me down for a maybe.

$400 seems fair, knowing it is done right can be priceless, it must shorten the life of something, 15%, or no ?

Actually Ryan it was under 500 miles and now has around 6800.
No problems, increased gas mileage(I think) with
the Kosei K1s and the Yokohama Parada Specs that were installed
Thursday night I'd give any Works car a straight line run for money.

Man, you are KILLING ME!

Do you have any idea how hard it was to resist the Cincy party? And now you go and set one up in Detroit? You are such a tease!

C'mon man, I got a warranty to protect! Why are you doing this to me? It's personal, isn't it...?

LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I will cruise up and shake some hands. Anything to meet some other MINIACs.

Who is this Warranty guy you're talking about? Have I met him; sounds like you're hanging around him too much! Give him a little bit of space and leave him alone for a while!

[Jedi Force] You will give in to your temptation and join the Pulley Party [/Jedi Force]

I'm probably out of the running since I'm looking for condo's and am saving for the down payment. Unfortunately I have to work on those days too so I would have to somehow switch weekends or something. But hey, it's a long time until Dec so who knows? (I think I going to conveniently get the flu that weekend

OK guys, I am now starting to loook at getting back to parties since the baby was born two weeks ago.

I have the Boston Party, the Phoenix Party, and the Detroit Party. Let's start organizing this.

Do we have a location yet Rye? I need to get on that part of it to see how wild we can get with indoor BBQ and such...

It's good that we have dates, until I realized that Michigan is cold in December . Got Heat?

If you are interested, go ahead and contact me to put your info down on the list. Don't start that until Tuesday after Labor day. If we are doing 5-7, that gives us three days. That maxes out at 18 cars. Enough interest and we can do another day.

Here is the pricing and what will be available for install at the party:

Pulley alone $400
Pulley and ECU $1090
Intake, pulley and ECU $1299

Other parts may be available for purchase, but not for install. The installation requires a bunch more tools for shipping, and in some cases, a lift. It also takes more time away from the primary goal of pulleys.

I look forward to meeting you all! These parties are ALWAYS a blast. Feel free to stop by just to watch what's going on and meet other enthusiasts even if you don't want the pulley. We almost always head out after the day for evening socializing as well.

Randy

[clinical answering of questions]

Yes, we have a location, it's my dad's place
Yes, it get's cold as *&^# in December in Michigan, but...
Yes, the garage has heat, and insulation, and drywall, and paint, and chairs, and even some carpeting!
Yes, people are interested - plus I've been promoting the p!ss out of it

Wild BBQ's will have to resort to the lounge in the basement where the Billiard table is or an "off-campus" restaurant or bar or the like.

...I'll go tell the people interested that are in the Michigan MINI Motor Club to get ahold of you.

Cheers,
Ryan

Here's my tenative listing of the MINIac's that are interested in the Pulley Party (pending confirmation from their phone-call to Randy)

Silver, Loaded, chad123, 400ex, spaner, lotsoboost, and from the MMMC: Josh, Eric, Dave, and Paul.

That makes 10 so far (not counting me), who else is itching for about 18 horsepower and better fuel economy? (if you can keep your foot out of it)

To sign up, call Randy Webb at 1-720-841-1002. You can pick your install time: (8:30a, 10, 11:30, 1p, 2:30 and 4 for all three days) If you're also getting the ECU, make sure to tell Randy (or me), and be ready to show up early. Show up where? I'll keep you posted as time get's closer

Cheers,
Ryan
