Im proud to let you know that the preproduction hood passed all my quality and visual inspections. The surface quality
is gorgeous smoother and more perfect then the stock hood, the weave is layed out diagonaly with no wrinkles in the material the resin is clear and hard...I'm in love...... the first batch will be delivered in less then 2 weeks and right
behind the MCS hood I will deliver the MC hood. I will start pre orders tomorrow so if you want to be first on the block
(unless you live on my block  with a carbon hood call or email me. Price $ 799.00 plus shipping a great price for a
complicated carbon hood.

Peter, will there be a way to re-attach the padding/insulation on the underside of the stock hood to the CF one? I'm thinking of the air boxes that seal up against it, not to mention some of the other reasons why that material might be there...
Hey, that price is very reasonable! Look forward to some photos soon. Thanks.

I'm assuming this is identical to stock surfacing, right?
I was hoping that when someone did do a carbon hood, that they would redesign the scoop so that it had a LARGER intercooler intake that extended over the intercooler to allow ramming larger volume of air through it

>>The cover can be re-attached as the structure of the CF-hood mimics the original sheetmetal.
>>I will have some images of the pre-production hood asap.

We certainly need the weight data, but the price seems reasonable. (It kinda worries me that the weight wasn't already advertised. Isn't that the only reason to develop/purchase one of these? (Ricers excluded.))
How about some more info about what the installation involves? Does it just bolt on using the stock hardware and fasteners? (grill, headlights, washer nozzles, hinges, etc.) With the loss of weight, do the stock struts try to smack you in the teeth when you open the hood?
I'd want to preserve the stock look, and I'm leaning towards a water/air intercooler, so the normal scoop would be more attractive to me.

Crumple zones are built into the frames and structures, not the facia.
And from what M7 has said, it seems like this attaches to the stock bonnet framework. And of course... Carbon Fiber does not "Crumple" It would take a serious Smacking to damage it.
My guess, from the techniques used in creating such a piece, would that you will see 10 - 15 lbs of weight shed. The Stock hood really is not that heavy, but when you remove even 5lbs from a surface area as big as the bonnet, it is an improvement.
as far as a larger scoop... I think it would make the already odd looking flared nostril look more odd. my $.02

I hope it's more than just a 10 pound difference... Instead of spending $800 to save 10 pounds, I rather go to the gym a little bit and lose way more than that The weight data is crucial, there is no reason to buy it if the weight isn't much better, am I off on this?
