i think this is a rip off of alta

they had this on the old wrx sti. it makes sense but the effect, if any, probably can only be felt on really hot days

The feature that this has that the Alta one does not seem to have is the added Intercooler Sprayers, which would make more of a difference, I think, than the diverter alone..

looks cool. lots of STI guys have intercooler sprays for both cool factor and "benefit". Technically water/liquid would help bring temps down right? (i.e. sweating/those mist fan things compared to a regular fan) but how much benefit is noticeable? sadly no idea =[ If it was cheaper i'd get it.

interesting nonetheless compared to alternatives.. its a diverter plate compared with the 99$ alta version. Is roughly $100 bucks worth a pre-made sprayer? thats on you. The highly debated larger intercooler is also an option, but like these diverters, they "technically" should work, but who knows.

I have no idea what i want

Yeah I was in the same boat as you..
But the big thing that stopped me from getting this and hooking up the cool sprayers, was that you have to tap it into the rear wiper fluid line.. SO, every time you activate spraying you either spray AND wipe the rear window at the same time OR- you deactivate the rear wiper motor and instead of using a "T" fitting you run the line straight to the sprayers...

It might not be too much of a consequence, but I just didn't want to screw around with that and then one random day think, fffff me I wish I had that stupid rear wiper ...

Seems to me it would be very easy to build your own....

I have already removed my rear wiper, so my squirter is ready for use.

I would surmize a portion of a garden sprayer neck and nozzel which has an adjustable spray patern for proper atomization, could be used with OEM Intercooler cover and hood assembly on an R53 built from 02-05 ?

Air flow should also help with dispersion too.

Or maybe even a pair of windshield squirters mounted to OEM plastic cover fronts, The spray direction is adjustable and could be pointed upwards towards the plastic hood assembly and that would deflect it downwards and into intercooler.....

Anyone ever try this ???

I considered using just a normal sprayer from a car (example:windsheild ones) and putting it on the front of the diverter and aiming it on the intercooler, shouldnt be to hard i dont imagine,

Mod can we move this to 1st gen?

why move to 1st gen we are talking about 07+ r56 intercooler diverters & sprayers...

I'm still thinking along the same lines as got.pho... Technically, it SHOULD work, and bring down temperatures a fair bit, as well as the bigger IC's ... But does it? Probably. Does it help? I'm sure at some point. The CAR will be able to feel it more than I would.
Will it make a noticeable difference ? ... ehhhh... I'll save my money Now heatshielding and turbo wrap... That's a little bit more noticeable !

The cryo2 bars spray nitrous. The water sprayers are attached to the intercooler. I used the rear wiper line for them. Here's another pic...
