Invidia. The others aren't even worth it, unless you do a custom one.

Wasn't aware Alta made a 2.5", though...

Thumper- You are correct.I got confused, been reading a ton of sites and miss read somewhere down the line.

Dan- Never like the sound of them.especially for the money they ask.Had one on my SS camaro at one time,Only lasted 3 months. My buddy had one on his corvette and got rid of it as well.We both ended up going with B&B.

Go custom- cheaper by far and can get a great sound if done right. If you're looking for performance gains, not much will be had from a catback. If you are, turbo back/downpipes will get you that gain in power you are looking for. But if its just for looks and sounds, and maybe 1hp, go custom- save yourself money and get basically the same result. and you can even do DP's after that too! win win

You are they first person i've heard that had something bad to say about the Invidia.

JCW?Would you say this would be the best system for a mini? Not going off price,Only performance

And can you buy one?

Overrated?

Have you driven in a car with one/heard it in person?

I personally feel the same about the Alta though, so different strokes for different folks I guess.

I didnt say anything bad about it. I just feel that peoples feelings of the system are a bit exaggerated. Yes it sounds nice, but I have heard it described as a Subbie sound, or ultra aggressive which it is neither, I was super hyped only to be let down. Its always worse when something is described as Hott, explosive, badass, only to pop and fizzle by comparison. I just had my expectation set to kill and it only mildly stunned.
The worse thing about the ALTA is the price, Then again High end exhaust usually is more expensive.
Whatever you decide for exhaust, if you want power, you need a DP. Regardless of what brand you buy.

for turbo performance the downpipe is most important, and should accompany a free flo systen on back, little or no packpressure is needed, 304 stainless is FOREVER expensive but worth it in the long run, not yet a mini owner, but WILL BE, i can tell how much quicker the my turbo vw spools when i have 3 in lo restriction downpipe compared to 2.5 in standard cat downpipe on, both dumping into 2.5 in borla system, if you cant see thru the muffler its restrictive, the turbo acts as a muffler somewhat also

Have you heard one in person?? Subie was the first sound that came to mind when I first heard the Invidia. Subie mixed with an VW/Audi 2.0T....thats the best comparison I'd make, odd though, I know.

It's not ultra aggressive, no exhaust for this car is "ultra aggressive." Running an open downpipe is about as aggressive as it gets and even that isn't "ultra" aggressive sounding.

Yup, I agree the downpipe is where its at, hopefully will get one soon.

You can see right through the Invidia .
