Drivetrain Invidia downpipe possibilities

Invidia downpipe possibilities
got.pho and I were chattin about this...
I think many of us who have an Invidia would love the ability to be able to add a downpipe that fits without having to cut up the Invidia. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like the both the WMW and Milltek downpipes are about the same length as the stock one, which means they would fit the Invidia with no cutting!
Does anyone know if this is true? Hopefully Way can chime in here....

What about having an exhaust shop make a replacement downpipe that will work with the Invidia catback? Would that be that much more money than buying an aftermarket one? I've never had any custom exhaust work done so I have no idea...I can weld stainless so I wonder if I could pick up some bends and do it myself lol...hmmm any member want to donate their factory downpipe they already replaced with an Alta one or something?

Im making a DP for some one soon to work with an invidia but it needs modifications. He will be cutting of the flange on the invidia and will be welding on another flange on to that and onto the DP that im working on . The DP will be the same length as the stock one except that it will be a full 2.5" piece.
If some one local was to come by, i could make one to where all you had to do was cut off teh invidia flange then slip the new DP on thent no welding would be required and the average person with a hacksaw could install it.

As posted in previous threads, there is no way to make a direct bolt on unless you spend thousands in special tooling to make that connection. The oem connection is right after the bend, the pipe is flared. There is not enough material to grip the pipe to make the flare.
I dont see anyone investing in the tooling to make a setup like that unless they have a big contract to do so or have the tooling on hand already.

catback = sound, DP = power.
