Thermostat?

On my previous cars I have changed the stock thermostat for a 180 deg and a fan modification to keep the coolant temp between 180 and 200.

Can this be done on my new r56 mini?
Do we even have a thermostat, what’s the operating temp of our cars?

I feel that my car is faster when it's around that temp

Thanks

I have an H20 temp gauge, and it usually sits between 180 and 200. The only time it goes over that is in stop and go traffic, or just after I come off the freeway....but it promptly cools down below 200.

On 70deg day .....

freeway= about 186
in-town= about 198
