Comparisons between dynos

Hi guys,
I open this thread, because I want to ask your opinion regarding to dynos that I have done.

Before I start, please keep in mind that I had a mini cooper s mod. 2007, which I sold on May, and rebought a new one because the previous one had many and serious problems.

On April 2008, I had dynoed my previous mini, which had only a silicone hose between the turbo and the ic of M7, and a home made CAI with a pipercross foam filter.
On that dyno, and with temperature of 21 C temperature, the car produced 194hp on 5150 rpms, and 280 nm approximately in 3500 rpms.

I dynoed the new one yesterday.
It has the ddm street intake system, and the same M7 silicone hose.
The car produced 201hp in 6540 rpms, and 277 nm of torque in 3120 rpms.
Temperature was 31 C degrees.
I would like to ask you if you consider normal the fact that the new car produces its full power 1400 rpms above the previous one.
Do you happen to know if there was any remapping to mod 2008 cars?
Thank you.

P.S both dynoes happened in the same dyno, Maha LPS 3000.

From: Orlando, my house is in fortlauderdale and im originally from da bronx
I never heard of that type of dyno. Its odd that the HP is happening higher. Then again its a different car and year and you have different mods . SOme mods tend to shift the curve. Did you make more HP under the curve at other RPM vs your other car?

http://www.maha.de/en/2193.asp

This is the model, and it is considered as one of the most strict ones....
I have to check the curves in order to reply to your question...

I find it difficult to believe that you are pulling those sorts of numbers from basically a standard Cooper S Are those figures you have quoted a calculation of flywheel HP or are they Wheel HP? Is it possible that there is a few calibrations on the dyno that needs looking at?

Its nice to see numbers like that though

All mini R56s in Greece have standard from 185-189 hp always in the flywheel.
These numbers are flywheel numbers that the dyno presented in the graph, not any calculation of my own..
Wheel HP are 159,8 because always the Maha dynos consider about 20% losses for the fwd cars..
I am concerned about the high number of rpms...
But it seems from the curve, that from 5150 I have already 200 hp.

And there lies the answer. Your WHP is 160bhp and MINI's lose 14-15% NOT 20% in transmission losses, so your flywheel HP is 184bhp. In otherwords typical of all R56 MCS tests that i've seen. Obviously the DDM and M7 pipe are giving you nothing extra on a dyno, though on the road this will / could be different.

Really cannot judge if the transmission losses are correct or not...
If you say so, I have no reason not to believe...
