JCW exhaust note

How much different is the JCW exhaust note from the stock MCS exhaust? Is it much louder, throatier, beefier? Or is there not much difference? I can pick up a used (for 1 day) JCW exhaust very inexpensively and just what to know how much different the sound will be. Thanks in advance.

The change in exhaust note is barely noticeable. (I upgraded from stock to JCW about a year ago) If you're looking for more "tone", the aftermarket units will give you more of that. I went for the JCW since I was looking for more flow and better looking tips, without more noise to bug my neighbors. (Standard disclaimer for personal opinion applied)

Take out the center resonator, and the JCW sounds quite different.

I just put one on my car not to long ago. I really don't notice a huge difference in sound, but it is a little louder. Mine has also not started popping yet, i think that comes with time.

Definitely comes with time. It's weird how you have to wear it down for awhile.

I think it has a better tone to it, and is slightly louder. It weighs less and has better flow than stock.

Here is a clip of my jcw exhaust:

Please let me know if you don't like it and I'll buy it from you! I've been looking for a used JCW(I even posted a "wanted" ad here awhile ago), and still haven't found anything.

Thanks

I'm not buying it. A dealership offered to sell it to me for $250. List is over $700. PM me if you want more details.

Dang that's crazy. I love the tips on them. I sprayed my exhaust black and the "John Cooper Works" still shows up.

Get a JCW exhaust with RMW header - it sounds normal below 3500rpm and when you go upwards it howls
