LOL...i have seen their R53 in action, but still thats not a base to come around to R56 forums and stir some senseless commotion on a thread that started last year in end of November....Photos or BAN!!!!! i really dont want to put a popcorn face here, cause i would probably die from all the transfat that it has while waiting for RMW to unveil their monster mod for our cars

MiniP relax and have fun. I don't know why you are angry, but I agree with the general sentiment you express. This is / was a very silly thread.

You would be amazed how much time and money goes into "opening" up the ECU....

Before that happens not much will be cracking I think, besides for exhaust and other simple bolt ons......

Water/Meth injection does indeed cool air inlet temperatures. However, it also allows you to increase boost and advance timing without the need for higher octane fuel. Higher boost = much more HP.

If it was only that simple.....
Higher boost= more heat. Much more hp = much more heat. ( Isn't that what we were trying to control?) Then what? Don't tell me, let me guess. You inject more methanol which creats...uh oh! Here we go again.

Okay so you add water/meth, you get lower temps. You turn up the boost, now you have more hp and the same temps you started with. Sounds pretty "simple".

The "same temps" you started with which were too high, so you added an injection system to cool them? Only sounds simple if you say it real fast.

Who said they were too high? You can always upgrade the intercooler to keep the temperatures down if it's that much of a problem. Higher boost and stock temps? Sounds good to me...

I don't see why you're all worked up here but oh well.

They've been working on stuff for the R56 for a while. Jan does not release anything until its proven, and if he were to post what he was doing like you want and it turns out that it didn't work you'd prob be all up in arms over that too. They came out with an R56 turboback nearly a year ago, I've seen it in person and it looked great...but they decided to hold off on it until they could start releasing bigger and better things for the R56, which was being held back by tuning. That is very close though.

Be patient...I'm sure what he is doing will give more gains than the silly products that are currently out for the R56.

So what size piping would RMW use for the r56 exhaust?

I would like to strengthen the internals of my motor. Not just so I can pump out 35psi of boost like a diesel, but more for longevity purposes. Besides the obvious extra power that lighter and stronger internals provide, does it make for a smoother engine and power delivery? I'm sorry, I've never driven a sweetly modified RMW R53!

It's a true delight!

I've driven one of the R53 2.0L stroker cars and it blows your mind.

There's no need for strengthened internals unless your going to be running more power through your motor...so not quite sure why your just looking for stronger internals. But, once people start playing with bigger turbos and such, I'm sure you will see various internal components popping up on the market.

Well, I do want to run a larger turbo for the sake of linear power delivery. I hate the feeling of the power disappearing close to redline... it is especially noticeable with many modifications. I guess the ECU doesn't like more power. Yabba!

Here here!!! I'm running a gt2560r turbo, gives up a little lower end power but once 2500 rpm comes around power only increases to redline!!!

If so, you have A LOT more to be telling us about it

well what would u like to know? i'm not running any water/meth injection. my bolt on mods consist of Alta's FMIC, Boost tubes, Turboback exhaust, turbo inlet hose, and advice, i also have DDMWork's Race Intake, M7's Vortex scoop and Helix13's VTA BOV and of course a GT2560R turbo... the exact same one as Alta's Setup... i'm only running 17psi right now but am damn close to all of alta's runnings for their turbo setup. i suggest going to them for all questions on how the car runs. i have stock internals from my R56 2007 model year, only drivetrain mod is Alta's Short Throw Shifter. it's an overly basic setup. i'm a daily driver, track once-twice a month. getting FSDs, fixed camber plates and TSW springs installed soon.

i'll admit i went against all things i know about modding when it came to my mini... i HAD to get the power mods first even tho i should have gone suspension THEN power, but i couldn't help it, it was sooooo rediculously addicting :D

+1 LOL....

Where has this guy been the past year when people have been discussing bigger turbo kits??

dunphyj...you make it sound like its all so simple...however you are probably the one of the only ones right now running a different turbo than stock. We'd love to know more about it/see pictures & video.
