Drivetrain Evotech ECU Redline
#1
I have read in this forum that the evotech and other ecu upgrades will raise the redline on the mcs. Is this redline raise visible from the tachometer? From what I understand, a mcs with pulley and evo ecu should have a redline of 7200 rpm (or ~7400 without the pulley). So does the software adjust the illuminated red bars of the mini tach to reflect this? Essentially I am trying to determine whether it's possible to verify an ecu upgrade simply by looking at the tach... thanks in advance.

The redline is made up of non-thinking lights, unlike the E46 M3. What that means is, you will have to rev it to the new redline to check it.
The software from me for the pulley is set at 7200, whereas any other vendor selling the EVOTech has the redline set at 7500.
Hope that helps!
