Actually, being the supercharged SS, it isn't, but I digress...

Not that there is anything wrong with a Cobalt SS, my friend has a SS/TC, which is frustratingly fast, but, I just had to let you know...

and so can my friend run JCW on stock ecu? he was looking to replace the turbine with the one of an audi he said then tune it. but until then he wants to put the injectors on.

and do u need to tune for ported head?
Tell him to leave the injectors alone for now. Once he gets a bigger turbo AND finds someone to tune it the injectors may be helpful. He'll probably never need them.

Much more useful mods would be the normal stuff: exhaust, intake, intercooler, Jan tune etc..

I have to wonder though how someone who can't understand a forum could know enough to be able to change turbos on a highly computerized european car... (the fact he wants to change the injectors is a clue that he doesn't)

I wouldn't assume that...

one of the first ways to hack an EFI engine was to change the air sensor and injectors in a matched way. The stock ECU thinks it's doing the same thing, and the engine is just getting more air and fuel.

I've seen dual turbo V8s that used that method for running stock tunes. But the ECUs are a bit smarter now and it's harder to do this.

But gotta love they guy for trying...

They could tell if they really wanted to, but I've never heard of a dealer reading the EEPROM and doing a bit comparison.

I also don't understand why your friend just dosent get on the forum
you don't need to justify getting the mini over a cobalt.

the cobalt is barely faster then a cooper s, and that's only in a straight line. throw in any turns and there's no comparison.

road and track magazine said it best about the cobalt:

pro's: great engine.
con's: it's a cobalt.

I've never seen a cobalt come out to the races.

I never understand the point of these pissing matches.

Cobalt SC is faster than Cooper S. JCW is faster than Cobalt SC. Cobalt TC is faster than a JCW.

MINIs corner better. Cobalts are faster in a straight line. Looks are subjective.

Let's move on people

completely stock about 198-210 hp and torque to the ground - depending on the individual car.

a tune can easily bump that up to ~210-220 hp and 225-240 torque to the ground. Once again results vary from car to car.

It's easier to add more torque than hp.
