That's a buttload of TQ.

And many tuners and dynos use the tailpipe wideband sensor - good tuners understand the impact of the cat on reported A/F ratio (it's pretty consistent) and adjust their tuning targets appropriately. I know Jan did this when he tuned my car.

Well your car would need to be dyno tuned and I'm not sure when Jan will be near TN next, but after that, he will release hand helds like for the R53 where we can sync the maps he would send us with the hand held from a computer and then sync those with the car. However, the module is not free

The TRQ to work today on the highway, man, like I stated before, I must look crazy from other drivers standpoint with my cemented on smile

Thanks DT...I guess I should have been a little clearer....I have a factory R56 JCW. I assume the steps you describe will be the same...just gotta sit back and wait for a little while I guess......

It's like Thumper said Phlash...the work Jan is doing now is multipled every week, the longer you wait, the better the result...the tune is fantastic man really is, but its got more room to improve because of everything yet to be unlocked from the ecu, which is scary lol...

Good things will happen within the next 2 months with this...maybe sooner..

Nice JCDub btw!

I'm sold on this tune, but i'm still a bit nervous about spending the money only to have the dealer reflash the ECU since I haven't even had my first dealer service yet.

I'm going to wait patiently for the handheld tuner.

I'm definatley one of those waiting for a quality tune for the Factory JCW available via a flash module. The ability to flash back to stock is an absolute must for us in Cali.

Don't sweat it... get the tune and when the OBDII unit comes available, Jan will send you a copy of the stock tune. (cause he keeps a copy of your stock tune)

Well, that's what he's doing for me.

one of those had better be the Euro pop & burble now that I can't get a new JCW in a nice blue, I'll have to make due w/ my MCS.
Now if it could add water temp &/or boost to the OBC, that'd be pretty trick as well

Now I know sound is not why I got the tune, but hear me out here.

Nitro, after about a day, I hadn't noticed any sound difference in the exhaust...for some reason it just felt and sounded the same and I was wondering the same thing you were, however, I didn't get to drive a lot that day we tuned because for one we were there until 5pm and I had to work at 6pm so....

Dude, now its unreal. I feel like the exhaust just grew a set and it growls so much more now! It pops so hard in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, especially WOT...it almost feels like the car is getting used to the ecu now and man I tell you, the exhaust note is so much meaner. I doesn't burble as much, maybe other exhausts will, but as for pop, holy jesus! Ever heard a subie pop? It sounds like that and no coincidence there with ALTA/PERRIN a big subie world manufc. With the combo of the tune unlocking sound from the turbo and now my exhaust, its like an extra bonus I wasn't expecting!!

Another little update I noticed...during idle, the car is SO SMOOTH and doesn;t rattle and shake around like Killerfox said, its a completely new ride. All R56's should feel this way and the driveability is just so much better within my new power-band. I tell you what, this tune does more then just add redick trq and hp. Needless to say I'm extremely excited and happy about this tune. So worth it!!!

I'll try and make some in car video this week...

So has anyone considered upgrading their clutch to go along with the upgraded Hp/(and especially)torque?

I don't believe so...I think the only "upgraded" clutch is the newer one for the JCW cars. I could be mistaken though...

There are upgraded clutch kits, but no-one makes a lightened/1-piece flywheel yet. R&R of the trans to pop in an uprated clutch is not going to be a fun weekend project. I'll be waiting for at least the flywheel and possibly a real LSD before I bother heading down that road. While you're dropping the subframe to remove the trans, it'd also be a good time to do the front control arm bushings...

Would it be possible one day to have a custom tune by RMW and store that on a handheld tuning device. That would make the best of both worlds... I'd hate to have my $800-$900 tune thrown in the crapper by a dealer.

Thats why I didn't have the tune done. My car has been to the dealer 5 times with only 14k unless someone does come out with the hand held i'm a no go.

Why don't you tell your dealer not to touch the computer? I guess I'm lucky enough where I can roll into my dealer with 2430293 mods and they don't say nothing. I already called them up and said not to touch the ecu when I come in, whenever I come in and they put it in file.

The handheld would be nice and Jan does have my map so its just a matter of waiting for it...

Jan,

How important is it to have a boost gage for your R56 tune? Can't the boost be monitored from the OBDII port?

Thanks!
