Hey sorry for all the questions, but along with your performance figures (0 to 60's and 1/4 miles) what has this tune done to your gas mileage? What kind of mpg were you getting before and after the tune, if you drive normally? (and not like you stole it)

First off, I have been driving like I stole it since the tune! I wouldn't be able to give you nice, cruise style driving results. Gas seems the same, it didn't hurt it far as I can tell. I tell you what though, I had the dreaded ALTA DP CEL LIGHT before the tune. Ever since, its been a week now, no CELS at all, just crazy wheel spinning TRQ!

I thought there was mention of a flash loader so we could just buy it without having to go to an event? I had the Cobb Accessport on my Subie and I was even able to do tuning myself to my mods and it was awesome. This is the type of thing I would like to see, even if it happens in stages ie. flash loader, then software to tweek it ourselves a year later.

Jan already mentioned that this will be available to us soon, but nothing beats a true dyno tune for your car.

I personally prefer dyno then street then dyno then street for the tightest tune. From there you can make small additional tweeks without needing to go back to the dyno unless significant additional mods are added.

I wondered what happened to eliminate the CEL. Possibly that particular error code was disabled by RMW? That would be very cool!

You're probably running a little richer so the CAT is staying fired up...
It would be interesting to know what else he might have changed ?

Unless I misunderstood, Jan told me that he CANNOT program out CELs. (at least, not yet)

Jan was right...I spoke to soon...CEL came back, however, it was raining hard this morning. For some reason, I get this CEL whenever it rains. Any thoughts on that because thats just weird to me!

I guess its time to try those extenders ALTA sent me...

Unrelated to this thread...I don't want it to get off track...just figured I'd share.

i ended up selling the Alta DP, keeping the Alta catback exhaust, and had a custom 3" center section that starts at the bottom of the downpipe built. It sounds great, feels great, and NO CEL's!

BTW does anyone besides dtsoccer6 have the RMW tune? This thread has 18 pages already but I can't find anyone else.

This is the problem with all of the tunes out there. for some strange reason hardly anyone has bought them (i.e. Evotech, GIAC, and now RMW). It's very odd considering its probably the most talked about subject in the 2nd Gen forums by far.

I would assume you are asking if anyone besides him with an Alta TBE has an RMW tune?

There are only 4 people to my knowledge with the RMW R56 tune. It's brand new and Jan has to travel the country to get it done. It's not an off the shelf purchase.

Out of the 4, I'm the only one with the Alta DP as eveyone else either doesn't have one or has a different one.

Stop bragging when I get my downpipe from ED I think I will be the only person with everything plus water\meth. Then maybe I can get the VVT tune and really be fast.....

Jan/RMW's tune is the only one so far that doesn't require sending your ECU away and having a dead car in the meantime.
Still, the alternative is waiting for Jan to visit your town and there's only been 1 ? roadtrip so far.

Or people can just take a roadtrip themselves, and find Jan in whatever part of the country he may be

He's seriously somewhere new everyweek!

He's in Rochester NY this Saturday at Ekstens after the Koni Challenge at the Glen on Friday. He's doing R56 and R53's.
