Drivetrain JCW Brake Kit Question

I think I answered my own question ...
Parts Diagram for JCW Rears:

Part Diagram for Cooper S
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...64&hg=34&fg=10
Different part numbers and it looks like the rotors are bigger.

M3This: Highly recommend the new JCW BBK. Had mine installed back in Feb. and at the track, running the stock Brembo pads and Brembo LCF 600+ fluid, they are incredible compared to the stock R56 setup.
May change to Pagid or Carbotech pads when needed but this is one of the best decisions I've made for my R56! I bought an extra set of front pads & will be changing prior to the next BMW HPDE on 7/10.
Cheers!

When I upgraded my R53 MCS brakes with Ferodo DS2500 pads, Motul RBF600 fluid and steel-braided lines, they were awesome, especially on the track. But I wasn't sure whether or not the lines on the JCW Brembo kit are better than the stock MCS lines.

Had SS lines from the old brakes & reused. I'd get them.
Motul is really good fluid and a couple of the guys with R53 use the DS2500 pads. Haven't tried with the R56 and had used Carbotech but many people recommended Pagid.
Trial & error and what suits your style and budget is the way to go.

The factory R56 rear rotors are 259mm (also the same size as the rear rotor on the r53).
The JCW Sport Brake kit (4 wheel brake replacement) rear rotors are 280mm.
On a side note, I attended a driving/auto-cross school this weekend and the JCW Sport Brake kit did terrific. I was comparing front rotor temperatures between the JCW Sport Brake kit and the R56 factory front rotors.
The JCW Sport Brake kit was running about 100`F cooler than the factory R56 rotors.

DBA said their 2pc rotors for the R56 JCW Front Brakes will out the end of this month and that rear rotors are still in development.

Yea I have them already ... my car is a Factory JCW car and I was looking at upgrading the rotors both front and rear so thats why I was asking.

In the rear, I run the DBA 4000 Series rotors.
This combined setup was maybe 1500 to 1600 bucks after everything and holds up terrifically at the track!! I had faith in Chad when he was helping me purchase as he is a road racer himself.
The BBK rotor size is a two piece, 12.8" x 1.2" and the entire kit weighs under 30lbs.
Just as a reference and a possible consideration... http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=130

I ran carbotech xp6 front and stock rear last track day and my front rotors got really bad, is there any other brand making pads for the factory JCW?
I run the Detroit Tuned Big Brake Kit including Chad's front rotors, lines, and 4 piston calipers. I'm currently running Hawk HPS pads in the front and rear for street use and HAWK DTC pads for the track.

The combo (XP10/XP8) with stock MINI rotors works fine on my 07 MCS, too.

yeah that's second gen JCW 4-pot brembo wheels that will fit... i'm sure that other aftermarket 16" wheels would fit as well... my guess is that Team Dynamics ProRace wheels would fit them (the assumption is based off the fact that their 17x7s that i have in a 45 offset will clear stoptechs (whic are quite bigger than the JCWs) with no modifications... and i'm sure there's clearance abilities with JCWs covered with 16s... the only thing that MAY get in the way would be wheel weights for balancing... most likely not a problem, but may be... i ran into that problem when i tried to fit some 15s for my stock brakes and the caliper kept barely scrapping a wheel weight... so i just bout aftermarket and called it a day :P

Either Or
They are not Brembo but they are bigger than R53 rears can't recall if it was TRW I think, but I picked up rear calipers specifically to see if they were Brembo and they were not.
