New RMW Power Numbers - 277hp

Went down to see Jan and do some testing with the Water/Alcohol injection system. Jan tweaked the tune a bit and here's what we got: 277whp and 211lb.ft. of torque. Here are the mods:

RMW Head
RMW Race Cam
RMW Race Exhaust
RMW Meth Kit
RMW Tune
and a 17% pulley.

Everything else is stock.

The car pulls pretty good with 200lb.ft. from 3700 to 6600.

PS: Guess if ya factor in the drive train loss, that's twin turbo 135 BMW HP in a Mini Cooper!

when he comes back down we will put the latest race cam in it and see if we can get mid 280s on pump gas and methanol

Yes, very fun. Jan, Danny and I were talking about it and I'm thinking about putting the 02-04 tranny in the car as the gearing is too short down low. I think the longer first and second would actually work better.

In absolute terms, probably 15hp. But that's 15hp over an absolute perfect run without it. Take the car without W/A and run it repeatedly on the dyno and you'll probably loose another 10-15hp, with the W/A this will run 270's consistently.

I'm already on 215/45/17's. I put Jan's old coil-overs on the the car, and it is dumped onto the tires now. Actually rides much better than the old setup. The gearing is just too short.

That new race cam is wicked. The car it went in had a stock cam before, I think the guy shat his pants the first time he got into it.

Heard the new cam was awesome, course you'd never get the smile off my face if I had what you got now!!! Doubt the engineers were figuring in this kind of power when they selected the gear ratios...

Should have seen the wife drive it. I went over to get her and the kids and followed her home in the truck. Well, I tried. She got into it once and I saw her sawing a the wheel a bit, I had a good laugh. After that she was gone...... She's addicted to it now.

That's totally cool. My little VAP refuses to learn how to drive a stick . As a matter a fact she doesn't even like to drive .

I'm not that close, but I guess being on the same land mass makes a big difference.

I pretty much did shat in my pants and still do every time I get on it. The way the car pulls from 2000rpm all the way to red line is just INSANE. One thing I just got to do now is get rid of my DT bypass valve and get a stocker.

BTW, I also think the shorter gearing would be a lot better since 1st and 2nd gears are over in no time now.

Those numbers are so awesome. I can't believe everything else is stock. I wish I can start all over again with the mods on my MINI. *smacks forehead*

Did you need larger injectors though with those kinds of mods? What minor tweaks or future mods are going in the MINI?

Again, really impressive.

What's the benefit of getting rid of the DT Bypass Valve and going back to stock?

Can I call dibs on the DT BPV?

If you want I am up for a trade as long as I get yours first since my Mini is a DD. The benefit is so the drive ability on take off below 2k is better due to the valve not closing so fast.
