Back to the OP. Thanks, unclemeat. I'll be trying that later today.

Mine is mounted just in front of the "A" pillar on the dash, right up against the windscreen. Easily visible, out of the way, cable hides nicely in the gap between the dash and body.

Just wish that the R53 had the wideband AFR sensor.

It's made by Craven Speed. They sell it as a kit (cradle, arm, and bracket). They're sold out of the cradle for three weeks though. I ended up getting the cradle from Moss, and the "R" bracket from Craven.

It's $99.00 as a kit from Craven http://http://www.cravenspeed.com/in...&productID=275. A little pricey, but it's a nice powder-coated aluminum piece. Not to mention the fact that it's a nice clean looking install IMO.

I thought about mounting it on the dash, as the ones I've seen like that look good too, but I also want to use it as a scan tool for more than one car. I think the Velcro would be a hassle if it's not left in one spot permanently.

On a side note: I saw 14lbs of boost on my Scanguage this morning. Do these cars make that much stock or is my gauge off a tad?

Sounds about right for overboost.

Well - Im getting the hang of this thing!!

Now display Boost pressure without having to display MAP at the same time:

TXD: 07DF010B
RXF: 0441850B0000
RXD: 2808
MTH: 00910064FFxx

Where FFxx will fit one of the following offsets:
14.0 -- FF74
14.1 -- FF73
14.2 -- FF72
14.3 -- FF71
14.4 -- FF70
14.5 -- FF6F
14.6 -- FF6E
14.7 -- FF6D
14.8 -- FF6C
14.9 -- FF6B
15.0 -- FF6A

Best way to guess your offset would be to first display MAP on the scangauage, and while the car is in neutral, press the start button but without the clutch pedal depressed. What this will do is initiate the engine electronics without starting the vehicle. Next, take whatever MAP number the scangauge displays and complete the MTH xGauge.

Save as BST

Start boostin without MAP concurrently displayed!
Hey UM,

THANKS!!! I did what you said and it works like a charm.

One question though... how did you figure that out? Was that in the instructions? I must have missed that if it was.

I'd appreciate it if you could enlighten me a bit so I can learn how to do it myself...

Thanks,

Mark

Well the VW guys aready coded this sequence; which worked for the most part... But we had to have BOOST displayed while displaying MAP at the same time. What I think the XGauge was doing was referencing the SC's MAP value directly instead of pulling the data from the car.

All I did was find an alternative TXD value that worked for our cars. If I can recall all I did was take what they found in a VW forum here http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread...=202184&page=2 and changed a couple of digits which I thought would work for our cars:

VW version : TXD: 68 6A F1 01 0B
R56 Version : TXD: 07 DF 01 0B

Believe me, I was probably moreso excited about getting it functioning than anyone else. i think I ran around the house six times.

Guys;

Dont forget the other xGauge I programmed which shows the car's actual Air/Fuel ratio from the factory wide band O2 sensor:

CANSF Alt A/F Bank1 Sensor1 data -

TXD: 07DF0134
RXF: 04414534
RXD: 2808
MTH: 05B900800000

CHEERS!

Wow, THANKS!!! I'm still new to the SG so I'm still playing. At first glance, it seems pretty simple and straightforward but the more I play with it, the more of an important tool it can become.

That's a great idea... it would be nice to have that option.

Already used your info to get the BST working on Xgauge. Now I'm ready to try for the AFR, but got a question. Can you display more than one Xgauge at a time? Would kinda like to see BST and AFR at the same time, or am I getting greedy? BTW, thanks soooo much for the codes!

So does anyone know if the R53 can read out the oil pressure? As you can tell I have a R53

Will the R53 read the Boost? If so I will probably jump on the band wagon and purchase the scan gauge.

Used your codes to set the AFR for my R56 S and now have no clue what the
gauge is saying. It shows numbers from 0.04 to 0.09 for idle and under load. At one point, the display showed [U]two[U] AFR gauges! Did I screw it up again?

Yea....make sure you coded it right. If so, try the 'general' one on the link that unclemeat put in his post.

It should range from ~12.0 - 29.1...depeneding on if you're WOT or at idle and how rich/lean your tune is.
