?s about clutch/flywheel

So I am looking at eventually replacing the clutch and flywheel. I was wondering how much the stock fly wheel weighs. Also I was wondering the weight of the OS Giken flywheel and anyone has it so that I can get some feed back about it.

You wouldn't happen to know how much the Os Gilken weighs. http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/G2.../InvDetail.cfm

OS will make you one to just about whatever weight you desire. I've got the Prototype Streetmaster pressure plate sitting on my desk I hope to swap out with the race pressure plate currently in the car. I think the Streetmaster will weigh just a tick more. My hope is it will make the car easier to launch. Just haven't had a day here at the shop to get it in the car. I'm really excited about it. But I did some weighing of things when we first install it. Info can be found here.... ----> https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-fw-combo.html

The total weight of the package was 23.4lbs for the clutch AND flywheel together. Feel free to call me with any questions on it. I plan to post how the street master is when I get it in the car.

Thank you thats awesome. 2lbs less all together then the stock flywheel. When you install it do a full write up that would be sweet. Also are you in Maitland, Fl cause I am in Jax and can swing by there if you sell MINI parts.

We are in Downtown Orlando. I am an OS dealer, we primarily install here. After the dealings I've had with having to warranty other companies clutches lately and loosing my shirt on them I'm pretty sure our future clutch dealings will be OS or Stock. The OS Product really is something you almost feel bad putting in the car, you really want to put it on a display rack.
I'm trying to remember what the weights were but I think it was about the same weight as a Fidanza flywheel with a Clutchmasters clutch.

Considering that the OEM fly and clutch combined weigh over 35lbs that's an impressive reduction.

Ya thats what I was saying to my buddy at work. That is amazing throw in a crank pulley and the MINI would rev like a crotch rocket.

you're not going to see much with a crank pulley (not that I won't throw one on eventually anyhow ), but it'll be interesting to see if there doesn't need to be some additional throttle remapping. I know the Subaru's and Porsche's I've swapped out heavy dual mass flywheels on have really woken up, but they all had real throttle cables.

That is a really trick clutch/flywheel kit.

My Spec V was fly by wire like the MINI is and a lightened flywheel and it is amazing. And yes a crank pulley will help with throttle response. Reducing rotational mass will help with response.
