I have searched!

Can someone tell me the specs on the JCW Exhaust? What are prices new? Used?

The realoem link is showing the JCW tuning kit exhaust which is basically just a new muffler and very nice JCW logoed tips. You might be able to buy this separately from some dealers but Mini really intended for you to get this exhaust only with the tuning kit. (exhaust, intake, badges and ECU tune) I know they can be purchased used as I just sold mine. I also know of at least one other NAM member who plans to sell one in the near future.

There is also the exhaust that is installed on the factory JCW cars. This is a different exhaust all together and it includes a front section (resonator and no cat) and a rear section (muffler and tips). This exhaust can be bought from a Mini dealer for around $800 but it was not really intented for MCS upgrades like the exhaust bundled with the JCW tuning kit.

I hope this helps.

Just the front section (mide pipe) is $325ish retail. I just had to buy one (im only kept a downpipe from my stock exhaust) and the resonator is longer then a MCS but I doubt it actually has any real performance increases. It doesn't even burble (I was hopeing).

I replaced BOTH sections with the factory JCW exhaust and it sounds a lot different than the JCW tuning kit exhaust. It flows better (dropped the cat in the front section), feels faster (to me... and that is all that matters!), and sounds better overall in my opinion. (but this is VERY subjective.... I will say that it definitely "drones" a lot less than my JCW tuning kit exhaust that was installed on my MINI..... which was the primary reason that I made this change)

I will also add that if you want a "louder" exhaust then the JCW tuning kit exhaust (for me, on my car) was louder under load than the factory JCW exhaust.

YMMV.

Where did you get both sections? Is the piping larger than stock MCS?

Ordered from my dealer and it took about 10 days for it to arrive. I think the piping size is the same but does not have the second cat on the front section.

That would probably be me that Doug is referring to

I sold it already along with the CAI.

I do happen to have a nice shiny new metal JCW (front) grill badge for sale though

Bummer - thanks for the update

I'm looking for CAI and Exhaust and then getting RMW tune in May

After much deliberation this sounds like the best combo for me

Thanks
Brendan

I think the RMW tune with JCW hardware is a great way to go, from what I understand. I've had the 'death-rattle' so for me keeping everything OEM and maintaining the warrenty is crucial.

Rixter - what's the death rattle? -- i've had few trips to the dealer for the "tractor sound" / low oil issues

I have alrready the price I got mine at but mine is the full catback and it deletes one of the resonators. It has a nice low grumple. It is worth it

Don't you mean it deletes one of the cats? Are you referring to the factory jcw exhaust?

I just added full take off JCW exhaust and in combination with JCW CAI my 07 MCS already feels noticeable stronger . I love the sound too. I am looking into tuning it now and gaining at least 20-25 total whp at least. The tuning guys are telling me that the tune is conservative and will raise the boost to only 14 psi.
