Look at the page before this, someone got 29 hp out of a tune on their R56. Jan has tuned many many Mini's.

We started 3/12 with knowledge the dimsport works. What is the magic number you are looking where people have paid before you order? 100? It is obvious some dropped out and some might have put their name in but changed their mind and wont respond to this. If less then 100 commit, you going to request more $$$?

So am I! I just got in the GB for the Helix IC (for its performance, and plus its MUCH cheaper than me buying the Forge like I was going to). Im excited, to say the least! If I see 29hp out of my car at 5000ft elevation, I will have nothing but grins and gas woes

Aside from this, I am actually curious if you see this Jan....I know you had someone do a high elevation test in Colorado....what sort of power gains did they see, were they the same as before?

Also someone like James may be able to answer this but, my POS ALTA downpipe of course throws a CEL....anyone have a clue WITH the tune how much of a HP gain one might see going from my alta downpipe to a catless?

Ah man...Now the real problem is I guess if I buy a catless pipe somewhere I would have to get a v-band flange installed on the end to mate with the rest of my ALTA exhaust eh? Sheeeet.

James, are you in the states? I actually wasn't able to get jack from MINI at all (installing the drivers seat took me maybe an hour max). Everything on the drivers side plugs straight in after moving over the seat belt tensioner and wires, and just plugs into the stock harness.

I don't have a passenger seat yet but I've heard MINI in the US wont reprogram the ECU for the weight sensor at all. You have to physically remove the weight sensor from the stock seat (you cant buy a new sensor either, as it isnt compatible apparently), and put it into the passenger seat so that you dont trip a code or fault.

Sucks...Ill say that much because the last thing I want to do is take apart a 2K seat just to install a stupid sensor

Macedo is setting up production this summer.no pricing as of yet .

I do know the adjustable baffle will use a remote (like a aftermarket alarm) on a keychain .

No, recovering from an all-day paintball tournament yesterday... and then spent better part of today playing. Too old.

Damn it, now you've got me cluttering up this thread...

Ok, so if I get the flash tool with Jan's tune, install it, what happens if the dealer reflashes my ECU with an update. This changes the original software version number from say ver. 2.3 to ver. 2.7. Will the dimsport tool still recognize my ECU or will it think I am trying to install the tune on a different vehicle and lock up. Worse yet, will it lock up my ECU with total confusion?? Just asking... Not sure if anyone has encountered this yet.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think you should have any problems since the tool is coded to the Vin number of your car.

Nothing happens... your car will then have a stock tune if the dealer reflashes.

BUT that is the whole point of having the tool. You go home, insert the plug in your OBDII connector, turn on the tool and upload your "special" map.

I would like to hear from Jan about this as well. Coming from a software engineering background. If MINI changes any of the structure of the ECU, i.e. the firmware, the ECU program that runs on top of it might no longer be compatible. When you go to flash that program back you could run into some undesirable results.
