Ok I just put them in and theyre perfectly fine. The ones I took out also measured the same.. looked like as the electrode wore down, the carbon build up on the other side kept the gap the same.

FWIW I used a 15mm 6point deep socket instead of the reccommended 14mm 12pt. Just used a long magnet to fish them out, and the same magnet to put the new ones in along with a screwdriver to let me pull the magnet off.

Little plastic tab lifts up and the wire pulls off the coil. then just pull up kind of hard and the whole thing pops out

the NGK plugs I just got .026 inch gaps. Czar said the gap should be 0.8mm. Can anyone else confirm this? I've got a 2008 MCS btw.

You should NOT be adjusting the gaps, they are preset at the factory, unless they have been damaged in shipping, and only then should you yourself re-adjust the gap, and you must NOT lever against the fine electrode tip!

As for gap, the 0.8mm (0.32) I quote, this technical information was supplied to me by the NGK technical department, and that gap is relevant to all years production of the MCS N14 engine, running the NGK PLZKBR7A-G spark plugs.

If all yours have a 0.26 (0.66mm) gap, I would recommend leaving them be, just simply fit them, they will be fine.

I have a 2012 MCS with the N18 engine. ECS Tuning has the BERU plugs for this model year and I always like to check the gap is correct before I install the plugs. It looks like what I am seeing for the BERU plugs for the 2012 MCS with the N18 engine is .7MM or .028"

Is this correct?

Yep right here is the link.

Remember it was .7mm for the n18 Cooper S. Pregapped.

Good gap info here: Some plugs have been SS in part number and series.

Great, I always check the gap on the plugs even though they are supposed to be pre gapped. Better to be safe, it only takes a second.

Thanks for confirming .7MM
