Head removal soon. Head-gasket recommendation?

Hey guys, I burnt a valve in cylinder 1 so I have to remove the head and do some work. My question is whether there is anything to benefit from installing a thicker cometic head gasket to lower the CR.
Anything else worth doing while I have the head off?
