Looks more like an IC delete...very little info...on how it works...envokes the likes of Mercedes Benz....and you can install a smaller pulley for more power....has all the halmarks of a as seen on TV product!! It seems to be a water to air unit..connecting to the heater hose...ok...what happens once the radiator fluid is hot......fine for 5 minutes.......the S. Radiator is highly taxed...especially during high performance driving.....they do say a seperate pump and radiator could be installed for more $$$.
Maybe somebody knows more...but this is looking like a bit of an fail.
If this unit had a air to air exchanger on the side...where the extra space is....a hybrid of sorts...then it might be interesting....anybody build one of those yet???
IMO it woul be great....the water to water cooling for starts to prevent heat soaking, then the air to air for the higher speed stuff....Helix....you guys said you had some ideas....for a cost effective ic that kicks a$$.....how about a water/air hybrid...no pumps or seperae rad required?!

A little search based on my memory reveals this:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...tercooler.html
RMW was going to make and market this system at some point.

Don't know if it is available. Call Jan.

Thanks Doc!!
Looks like I might have too fast tp pan this one....I guess sometimes things on E-bay are not fakes/rip offs!
Still, the fact the IC really needs another $300 worth of pumps, pipeing, and 6 hours of faberaction work does make it less of a deal....pilpeing it directly into the cars radiator as suggested in the sale info seems ill advised...but paired with a pump and seperate radiator...it might be pretty good!!

A brief history . . .
This item noted above (and again in the link below) is pretty fairly priced IF it has everything that you need to do a turnkey installation on your R53 MINI.

The unit for sale on Ebay is one of the original W2A-IC's made by Brian and Mike Gleason of HEC in Colorado Springs, CO for FMD Performance between ~2003-2004. I have one on my R53 at present (the one that's for sale in the NAM marketplace actually ).
When the FMD ran out of money, the Gleason family held on to part of the inventory and FMD held on to some of the inventory as well. You sometimes see some of FMD's stuff up on ebay every now and then.
The Gleasons met Jan of RMW at MINIs on the Dragon in 2005. He really liked the W2A design, tested it out, and then began running this setup on quite a few RMW tuned machines. As it stands at present, Mike and Brian have sold all their inventory to RMW, so I don't think that there are too many of these floating around out there.
I met Mike Gleason at MINIs in the Mountains in 2007. I really liked the W2A-IC design that he and Brian designed. So I bought one, tested it out, and then began running this setup on my car. From there, with help from the Gleasons, DoS created several improved Laminova core designs that do not use an aluminum housing.
Laminova cores do an incredible job at cooling intake charge, but they are uber expensive once you put a complete system together. DoS has started investigating some options that are less expensive than Laminova, but we learned a lot of what to do and what not to through playing with the many setup and cooling options offered by this well designed OPCON product.
Great Ebay find if everything is there !!

Mini'mon (Clint) I posted a link to your's from Marketplace.
..any updates on the "DIY" system we talked about during MITM's?
..I was also at Mike's when you installed the R56 version.

The "DIY" system is shelved. I found something that seems like a more reasonable IC idea for the R53 than the idea that we discussed at MITM last year.
We built three R56 W2A Laminova IC units last year for a few folks and they do their job well, but we're looking at more affordable options. . .
