Oil Pump and Oil Squirters

I am in the process of rebuilding my engine.I have taken the oil pump housing apart to replace the pair of rotors.
When it came apart there was no trace of any sealant , is this correct ?
I would hate to reassemble to find it loses pressure to the system , you would never know as it is all encased.Maybe as the tolerances are so good it just need to be metal to metal.
Also does anyone know if there are torque setting for the oil squirter's that spray oil under the pistons, they didn't seem very tight at all when I removed them.
Thanks
Tony

When dealing with the oil pump its smart and easier to just get a whole new oil pump assembly from the dealer.

Part# 11147513049 - End cover with oil pump $217.69

I took my assembly off when I had the timing cover off and didnt use any sealant when reattaching it (Bentley didn't mention anything). I still had good oil pressure after that so I wouldn't worry about it.

It was much more cost effective to just buy the pair of rotors £16.23 including tax , about 25 dollars. There was no noticeable wear to the rotors, slight marking on the flats that contact the crankshaft and no wear at all on the alluminiun cover. The machining marks where still there.I found out from Tony Franks who runs the MINI challenge races in the UK that no gasket sealent was required and have bolted it up .I only changed the rotors as I had the engine apart and as it has done 48,000 miles there are some horror stories of the rotors breaking up. I thought it would be a good insurance to do.

The oil squirters are in ,I only did them up to 9 ft lb as I was worried with the oil hole drilled through them I might break the and they would be a right pain to repair. It was difficult to get them positioned so they didnt turn when tightening as there is not much room to clear the piston skirt.

I need to do that exact thing do you mind sharing how you did it in a little more detail because I don’t want to kick this thing over and have the pistons crack or something due to a lack of oil

Not sure what your looking for, but the oil squirter's are simply for additional cylinder wall cooling, they don't really effect ring lubrication.

Piston Oil Squirter

Do all Mini engines have the oil squirters? My 2011 does not have them but it was siezed when I bought it and taken apart at least once due to excessive RTV gasket sealer on everything. Thanks.

I do not know if all Mini engines have oil squirters but like @BlwnAway mentioned, oil squirters are more for helping cool the pistons and cylinder walls rather than lubrication. I have seen performance built engines that originally had piston oil squirters with delete plugs in their place, so I imagine their absence in your 2011 engine has nothing to do with the engine seizing.
