I'm testing 91 octane here in AZ. I can't speak for Adam or Jeff, but I think it is real close. Hey Adam where is the maps Jeff was supposed to send me?

Hey Alta guys,

Will the introductory price of $795 be extended to those of us who are waiting because we drive automatics?

Chris, that is too cool. I'm located in Glendale AZ. I'm that loud mellow Yellow Altified (complete with sticker) MCS you might have seen around town.

First day impressions

Just got the AP and tried out a couple of tunes from Jeff today. Ohhh the torque!!! I'm still grinning from my commute home from work. The difference in performance from the stock tune is dramatic. I'm an engineer and I love the ability to monitor all sorts of data with the AccessPORT. My boost with the stock tune was peaking at about 11.5PSI. With the stage 1 tune tweaked for my upgraded FMIC (Helix stepped core), I'm seeing up to 18.6psi peak boost. The car pulls like crazy through the mid-RPM's. The tunes I tried today had slightly different throttle response. The "GB02B tps" version with the "super linear" throttle response in sport mode comes on much stronger than the linear response with sport mode disabled but felt very smooth. With the "GB02B" tune in sport mode, the torque seemed to come on more quickly with a frenzied feel that's awesome. They seem to have dialed down the intervention of the launch control enabling a faster launch with a little more tire chirp. I'm in CA where we've only got 91 octane available. Since they are still finalizing the 91 octane maps, Jeff sent me the >92 octane maps to use with an octane booster for a few weeks until the 91 octane tunes are ready. Can't wait to drive to work tomorrow

Finished my first full talk of gas with the Alta tune. Worst gas mileage I've ever had - 27.5 mpg. I attribute it to my newly "re"-found lead foot. Once that has calmed down I expect to be back at or higher than my previous 31-33 mpg I had been getting.

I am sure the linear throttle is worth at least 1-2 mpg all by itself.

I'll trade you your 27.5 for my 20.5 any day, but l have not received a new map from Jeff I quite a while.

Just popping in to say THANK YOU to those that have already taken the plunge into the ALTA AccessPORT "kool-aid" and are enjoying the sugary goodness!

Really nice to read all the positive and honest feedback. Genuinely helps the whole group!

As always, If I or anyone else here can help with any pre- or post- purchase questions, shoot em our way.

Also, Jeff will pop in here shortly to address some of the questions and mapping comments as well.

Thank you all again!

Thanks for asking! When the Auto Version is released, we will offer an intro on that version as well. Treating it as a separate part vs. the 6-spd version.

So no fear!

i just tried the AP on my '09 JCW

Alta, i just tested my new AP. can i return it? it makes TOO much power. lol.

my feelings on the AP mirror motormouth's. we have the same car, 09 JCW, FMIC and live in the same place.

thank you Alta! i can't wipe the grin off of my face. the AP is fantastic. i couldn't be happier with the results. and i'm coming from a RMW tune.

as others have said, the pull through midrange is huge.

a DoS CAI will round out my power mods.

YES! If I'm reading that last post correctly it looks like I'm spending some cash this weekend on my automatic!

How (not in technical terms) did you correct the CEL issues with the auto? Meaning is it no longer an issue or do they still exist and the Accessport is just some how ignoring them?
I only ask because I own a 2010 and will bring it in for service. I'm assuming reflashing back to stock kills the evidence of the CELs existence?

Thanks for the post. We do NOT have the Auto version available for mass consumption yet. WHEN the last little details are corrected, THEN we will offer it at an intro price to Auto clients only.

Stay tuned to this thread for updated information when we have it folks!

HI Harry! I knew you were gonna love it. Glad you've started posting!

folks - Harry has been talking with me IRL about his mods he's doing. He is doing a ton of stuff to his MINI. It's almost like he's getting it ready for 90% track time!
