Alternate tool for supercharger removal
I am about to take out my JCW supercharger, hopefully to simply replace the water pump. (Won't know until I have it in my hand)
My Haynes manual says to use 8mm X 100mm studs to hold something in the front end while all that stuff is being removed. Before I run all over town looking for this (the manual doesn't say what pitch, etc....pretty vague) I wonder if any of you know what might work that is more easily found laying around my shop.
Why water pump? Well, car was running spot on when I got out to run in the bank. When I cranked it back up there was an engine speed-dependent whir that got progressively worse on the 6 mile drive home. I opened the hood and found the noise coming from you guessed it. I do not know if it is the sc or not, doesn't really matter yet, since I have to pull one to get to the other. I am just hoping it is the water pump that's all. I will use this opportunity to r/r oil in the s/c, r/r thermostat & housing, maybe new hoses. I have oil, electrical, and water temp gauges sitting in their boxes waiting for an opportunity to be installed. 105K +/- miles

The task will be easier if you remove the radiator support. Don't sweat not having the modular extension tools. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...02-post71.html
