Would definitely give it a try if there were idiot-proof instructions with diagrams included

Its called staying in business..

Its worth exactly what people are willing to pay.
Its called price gouging. I would not blink if they charged $4.99 for it.

That is a tough one. We spent lots of time on this, then did a bunch of in field testing, before releasing this. The part is a custom made, Stainless Steel (heat treated to relieve stress), CNC wound, spring that was designed to last 1 million plus cycles. Yes its"Just a spring" but there is a lot of value added to a part that is made properly, marketed properly, easy installation, has instructions and something that makes such a huge difference for only $25.

Keep in mind that dealers sell it for less and our sales apply to this. Plus if you are buying another part, we make killer deals on the spring!

Alta spring

I've got one. Worth every penny of $25.
If we don't pay for R&D, there will be no R&D and no development of after-market parts. If Alta knew that they'd sell a million units the cost for this could be spread out over the large sales, I doubt that they will sell more than a few thousand of them.

Hey, if we can sell a million, then we can surely cut the price!

I did the install today and it was pretty painless took me around 20 mins and I had them swapped out. I only ran into a problem when I went for a test drive and the bov wasn't working when I released I forgot to plug the connector back into the bov. My first impression was complete amazement how well the boost held after shifts. My traction control was having a field day after this mod. Well worth the $24 and now I just need to figure out how to install the hot side boost tube because I failed at that today big time.

I have had this mod for a little over a month now in my 2011 MCS and I'm really impressed on the difference. My finding were exact to the review. I have a Forge BOV spacer so i hear when it "blows off" and like yetti96 said It feels good. good investment i say it was worth every penny!!

Hmm you still feel the effects with the forge adapter?? I feel like that would counter the spring?? Can anyone explain??

Why would it counter? The spring is in the BOV the adapter just vents to atmosphere intend of back into the turbo.

That's my point. Isn't the forge supposed to make it a blow off and the spring is supposed to make the DV close quicker to recuirculate the boost. I don't know that was just my understanding. Hopefully someone cab correct me if I'm wrong

I've got to call your bluff on that one. Unless you consider the purchase of an AP and the spring not enough money to justify a discount.

I'm not arguing the cost of the spring. There's lots of R&D behind it, marketing, packaging, etc. Sure there is a considerable mark-up but you're not in business to give stuff away.

At the same time, this statement is a bit off.

Like others, I think the $25 was worth the investment. Considering how much money we all put into our MINIs it's a trivial amount.

Nobody likes to pay shipping but in case you haven't ordered anything lately, you can't ship anything for under $10 unless you are using USPS.

Bingo!

USPS is exactly what should have been used for this. It's a small part that fits easily in a small shipping envelope. UPS/Fed Ex, etc. are a waste of $ here.

Hey guys, we can ship it through US Mail if you give us a call, it's still going to be at least $5-6, and I can discount the spring a little, especially if you're purchasing something else too. Thanks!

no kidding... on top of paying $10 for shipment, i had to waste another 1.5 hrs to go to UPS to pick up the package - there was something wrong with the routing info and only one delivery attempt was made
