Automatic R53 MCS shifts earlier - does that make 17% pulley 'safer'?

I have been digging over the pulley threads and one thought crossed my mind that I have not been able to find an answer to.

It seems like everyone agrees to ONLY use a 15% for Track days, extended periods of time at redline, etc. For street driving the 17% is no problems...

Since the Auto MCS forces the shift at about 6700-ish, in theory does that make the 17% easier to recommend for the MCSa? By the nature of the trans, it can't rev as high as a manual, and even if it could it can't prevent the shift in order to stay at the near redline RPM...

I know there are tons of happy people with the 17%, and I used a 15% safely in my old MCS. Trying to decide if I should jump up to the 17% for the auto. I WANT to do a few track days next year, but in all honesty I don't know if it will happen. It would only be one or two anyway...I spend much more time on the back roads.

Back to searching, thanks!
