Love the sound. Can you make a video of you just reving from the outside. I want to if its insanely loud. There is a decibels limit for exhaust where I live. :(

Also, who makes Catless DP for MINI? Didn't Riss Racing went out of business?!

Riss is gone but you can catch them in the marketplace sometimes. That's how I found mine.

Another question: is anyone else on here in a county that requires emmission testing to pass inspection? I guess the only way around that is to put back the stock DP?

***** civilized,... that sounds sick. I like. Good job.

dont worry it's not that loud
it's only loud when you get on it
it's not bad at all for normal everyday driving

I'm curious about this too. Unless I missed it I don't think it was mentioned.

If im not mistaken, its a resonator delete and catless downpipe with his factory JCW exhaust, so the muffler is still the raspy factory jcw's muffler.
Achilles: If it helps, at one point I actually swapped my JCW factory muffler with a magnaflow (the one everybody talks about on these forums) and although it sounded mean at WOT, it droned a LOT and highway driving + the 2-3k rpm range was unbearable. it was too tame/annoying so I ended up putting my JCW factory muffler back on with the resonator delete + catless setup for a sportier note. hope that helps

was the magnaflow agressive sounding or just a much lower drone note?

Fitment issues were one of the main reasons Riss Racing went under. There are many threads on NAM regarding this. Mine did not fit properly. There are details in the OP.

I'll report back on what it's like with the RR catless DP, no resonator and a Magnaflow. I won't be until Jan or Feb though, after I get my inspection done so it will pass.

like I said, at full throttle it sounded pretty damn aggressive in a great way. but for normal driving it was more drone than tone. In my personal opinion, I just felt like the magnaflow was muffling the sound too much for my liking and on top of that it was a loud muffled sound being that it was catless and no resonator. Very one tone sounding during normal driving but the jcw muffler gives the sound a bit more character which is the main reason why I went back. if you want more details PM me, I just don't want to ruin/hijack BigMiniAl's thread.

It's ok man, I'm not that guy. I happen to agree. I actually have never had a problem with the factory JCW exhaust and think its probably one of the best stock exhausts out there. Just needed a little more character.

I'm with you on that one. I think the factory JCW exhaust is fantastic and with the catless dp and res. delete it sounds down-right mean. I don't think I'll be changing my exhaust anytime soon; every time I drive my car I get a huge grin on my face from the aggressive sound. Anywho, great looking mini Al. Cheers!
