Drivetrain Throttle Body and Inlet Manifold Cleaning

Use Purple Power or Simple Green in the intake manifold and throttle body. It's just oil that's built up here. It'll clean that oily residue off amazingly well. Use a spray bottle with water to rinse it out. Be careful not to get the throttle actuator wet. Dry it out with some compressed air.
I used Seafoam and some other carb cleaner in the intake ports to attack the hard carbon buildup, but nothing works as good as some scrubbing with a metal brush. Someone else mentioned using cleaning parts from a gun cleaning kit which is actually a very good idea to get in those tight spaces around the valve.

pictures for us not too mechanically inclined folks. I was thinking of
doing it but some pictures would proabably ease my fear a little.
Thanks
