Had to do some digging to find this.

Just got an email, they will be shipping the AEM intake FOR N18's. Looks like they finally completed it.

Will post pictures once I get it and install it.

Looks like they didn't go through with the metal inlet tube after all. I spoke to the designer about 2 years and he said he was trying to incorporate the metal intake tube like the N14, but the PCV coming from the inlet tube was very different.

Either way it really wasn't necessary. The stock one is considered an upgrade for n14's anyway lol.

AEM needs to come up with a CAI for the N12 now. My Justa wants an intake!

Small update:

Since the intake is not CARB approved yet...we'll have to wait until it is.

Just received the email this morning.

My AEM Intake is coming in this week. If it does eventually get CARB Legal, can you still request a CARB Exempt sticker? Or do you have to buy it when it is currently CARB Legal?

You actually ordered one and have one coming in? Did you get it directly from AEM?

That's a great question, I'll email them today about that.

Yea I ordered one from Emnotek. I stated in my other thread that it is almost $100 cheaper than getting it directly from AEM. Place your order!

Oookay, that company is in Georgia. That might be the reason you were able to order it. AEM can't sell it in California because of our hippie laws.

I'm suppose to be getting mine for free since I loaned them my car for a week to test fit the prototypes. This was a while back as well.

Looks like it's more waiting for me, but I'll email them with that question.

Yeah. Been trying to find a work around since AEM won't ship to CA. Emnotek did not have it in stock at the time when I ordered the intake because it just came out. So they told AEM to ship it to my addresses. Let's see how this goes ..

Don't think the AEM Intake for the N14 is CARB legal so probably no point of waiting. Do you know if they are in the process of making them legal?

Got an email this morning.

Once it's certified, just call customer service and they will send you some documentation to fill out.

Send that back and they'll give you the CARB sticker.

It's not Carb legal yet, but they're working on it.

I don't really care if it's legal either, I just want my damn intake lol....the whole process has taken an eternity.

Free intake for you so you save quite a bit there. What's another couple of days.

My thoughts exactly, plus I'm in no position to spend on mods right now.

Trying to get into car sales at the moment lol.

Lol. I knew it. So at the time Emnotek did not have the AEM intake in stock and Emnotek told AEM to send it directly to me. Its been taking too long and apparently AEM canceled the order without telling anyone because it is illegal for AEM to ship to California. Emnotek was mad because AEM didn't say anything to them and had us waiting days for a response. Emnotek has currently ordered a bunch for their warehouse and will be shipping me one to California. Its funny how AEM is located in California and won't ship to California. So my intake is going to California to Georgia and back to California. I am getting it regardless and thats all I care about. So if you do live in California or want almost $100 off the AEM intake, order from them now. lol

Was there some new law passed not allowing AEM to sell a non-CARB intake? Don't understand why it's an issue for N18s when the N14 isn't even CARB legal. I'm only aware of NM's intake being CARB approved

I guess I got my answer....from AEM's website under the N14 model listing

"California Restricted: Not legal for sale or use in California"

UltraRev out of New Jersey has a great deal going on for the AEM intake for the 2011-2013 MCS. The original price is $359.10. If you apply the coupon code se78261 it will knock off $25.14 making the final cost $333.96 with FREE shipping.

This is the cheapest that I can find for this intake... Did I hit gold, or not do enough digging?

So how is everyone liking the AEM then?

Centium - your Ultrarev deal is the best I've seen!

I love the way it sounds, but I'd have to agree with the guy in the forum that talks about putting a t-shirt in the intake. It feels like I'm actually losing torque by opening up the intake. I really feel it on the low end especially.

I think I'm going to experiment with blocking off different intake sources to see if there is any real difference in feel. Every other car I've put a CAI on felt like it had more kick. Something here is off.
