Drivetrain The Always Up-to-Date Thread on Tuning 2011+ (N18) MINIs

Well anyways back to tuning, and if you don't have anything good to say or a good factual piece of evidence besides bashing someone then don't even say anything. Everyone with a N18 wants a tune in here. Lets drop the crap and find more tuners and ask questions, thank you.
So as far as the question someone asked, any tuned N18 with a dyno done here?

I'd like to hear about results of the NM ECU level 1 tune with an automatic transmission. I have an R60, but experiences with any model that has the N18 should be the same, I think?
I just got off the phone with Jerry at NM, and I understand the auto transmission controls will sense and dump some of the boost, counteracting some of the benefits of the ECU tune.
But I'm not sure what to expect from the driver's seat, and whether a $500 tune on the auto transmission is wasted money.
Anyone?

I have it on my auto and despite the issue it is well worth the money. The car is night and day. It is hard to explain but you hear the waste gate dumping a little boost more than you feel it. If that makes any sense. I am going to be sending Jerry at NM some data logs so they can look at boost and short term fuel trims to see if they can figure out the reason for the dumping. The auto JCW has the same tranny and more power with no issue so I am sure it is something that will be figured out t some point.

It would be great if those owners that have experience with any of the various tune options could share their experiences and
thoughts about any of the following options that I understand exist...there may be others and we’d welcome hearing about
those too. Some of what is below comes from what has been post throughout NAM other info comes from the entities website.

I may have missed a few and if anyone has additional info I can edit this page to include them. I will also update it with any info for the above options.
Let’s get the most info we can...especially facts (actual out the door on the road total cost, required mods, methodology & actual gains...dynos would be a major plus).
This will go a long way in helping any of us decide what is best for our own set of criteria and save others time in the future from having to gather it all piece meal from hundreds of posts.
For now I’m trying to keep this only to the Post February ECU; which due to encryption has kept access limited to pulling it and doing a bench tune.

You would need to speak to NM regarding the findings. I'm not sure they would want that info out there, seeing as how they are working on a fix.
You won't see much from LTFT/STFT/KR/etc since the alert is sent through the CANBUS to issue the purge command. You'd need a GT1/ISIS access to pull that info.
For now, the Stage 2 is not offered on the Auto.

i recently noticed that when i get on the throttle a bit, something feels a bit different. i'm not sure what boost dump feels like, but it feels as if the DV dumps almost immediately after i lift the throttle, as opposed to a split second. for example, if i get on the throttle to pass someone, but then let off the throttle a split second later b/c i realize i don't have enough room, i feel as if the DV dumps the boost pretty immediately. hard to really explain/characterize, esp since it's my wife's daily drive car. something is definitely different, but i'm just not sure what. i'm just shy of 37k miles right now.

Yeah, this has been around for over two years for the N18: http://www.racechip.de/en
Already blew one N18 motor up, didn't gain a thing / lost power on two other R60s here. Put both into limp mode every time the dial went past 5 (no gain).
Sorry to say, but they're just importing another snake oil chip like all of the others before it have been.
