Thanks. Right now I have the Akrapovic delete r which is a stand alone that piggybacks the interior OBD2 port. It is supposed to block the P0420 from hitting the dash. I have been going back and forth with the place I got it and supposedly I am the only one that is having this problem... Not true as I have reached out to a few people and they are having the SMS issue. I was told I might want to try resetting the adaptations, but unfortunately the Bavarian Technic software if not fully up and running for the R60. The light comes and goes. No light for a few hundred miles, then it's back for a couple, gone for a few hundred and make for a mile and gone again. Very inconsistent.

Well apparently today my company has granted me 2 additional weeks of vacation to take this year (5 now). I have time to drive anywhere. I can only carry over 80 hours and have only taken 16 this year. Sooooooo......

The most likely scnerio is that we release a Stage1 system first that is non-CAN based. A traditional style piggyback. Something that is easy to install, adds a user definable amount of power (say 20-30whp & 30-40wtq), but can only be accessed/changed via a USB cable to a laptop. This is the type of system we currently have on the test car.
If the Stage1 does well then we would start development on a Stage2 upgrade kit which would feature CAN access. Which then opens up a whole new world of features. In dash map switching, gauge hijacking, shift light, torque limiting in lower gears, autotuning, E85/meth support, downpipe light disable, and whatever other tricks we can come up with. The items above would definitely fall in to the Stage2 category.

No actually, never really thought about that as it's a very rare occurrence. I figured it was the car just fighting the thing.
I know Melangell experiences the same thing. He has a 2011 with an NM tune.
One thing I did notice is the few times it has happen I didn't let the car warm up in the morning, just turned on and drove off.
I have an old habit of letting everything get up to temp. before I set off.
Probably unnecessary with newer cars...but oh well.

Same thing happened to my Wife a couple of years ago. Time off is nice. Time off without pay, not nice. Sorry to hear that.

We'll see how the road testing goes and if I'm happy with it we'll whip up say 20 systems and start fishing for early alpha testers on here.

One of the parameters we monitor with the tuning is air intake temperature which means we can program it to account for improved intercooler efficiency on its own. It looks like we'll be using our N55 Stage1 board for the N18 Stage1 which is well tested and has been in use for years, which means we could go from prototype phase to "alpha testing" relatively quickly. The board also has a port that you use to connect to a windows laptop computer to do datalogs, enter settings, and upload firmware changes we might make.

I can't wait. If you guys are in Simi Valley, then you're only ca. 1 hr from me. I have a stock '12 MCS and have been looking for something like this.

That is a big question mark at this point. I'll need to log one to see how they are set exactly from the factory and to determine exactly how much is left on the table. But my gut feeling is we'll find they've already given you half the gain we would otherwise be adding. How much boost are you running currently?
