I'm actually pretty surprised that Terry hasn't found more beta testers as it seems there is a huge % of MINIs out there... Oh well, there's only so much I can do in FL :(

Along with wondering if the CT can do a gauge sweep. can it do other things like make the change lane blinker blink more times, or do comfort control windows and sunroof close like NSC expert can? or is it simply a "dash hack"

There is no end to what we can have it do. But it's just a time vs. demand thing. You can update it using the BMS USB cable and I expect we'll do updates from time to time for the MINI as we want to add new tricks.

<3 who doesn't want a gauge sweep upon startup, especially on that nice big center speedo!!

You can't increase torque without increasing HP. Now, maybe it doesn't affect your MAX HP, because that comes just before redline and the boost is already falling off and the torque is going with it. But max HP doesn't tell the whole tale, the "area under the curve" is what really determines how fast a car will accelerate.

Tiny update: I was given the ok by Terry to crank it up a bit because of the extra octane the meth provides.

Under full load I'm seeing 18psi, car is uber strong. Like ra2fanatic previously stated, 80-85 feels like a walk in the park now. The car just wants to go!
The BMS clutch stop is a great compliment with this new found power =D

BACK TO MOTORING!

Funny, I should be getting my JB tomarrow and already had a thought of running a light %25 E85 mix with boost set a at 18psi. The only way I will do this is if the CT tool is able to read shift/lift, fuel pressure. I have run a %25 mix stock without issue for a few weeks, so I do not expect issue adding boost to the mix. E85 in DI cars is unblievably knock resistant with its combined cooling affect and octane rating. My speed3 I ran at 22psi with timing just under MBT (most timing an engine can run) with a 50% mix. Ofcourse my fuel trims were adjusted for the 50% mix. It's a great alternative to Meth if you have E85 near you, I live in AZ and it did not matter how hot my IAT's got, the car would not pull timing with E85.

Psh, as hippy and regulated as California is, E85 is mostly available in the boonies.

CooperFanattic, did you get the CAN Tool and if so have you been monitoring anything, like ****/lift, knock? Were you satisfied with the default 16psi?

Running a 25% mix the compensation is so little that its not really measurable. When your fuel trims have been tune for 35% and greater you will see a 2-3 mpg drop, you won't care with the huge power increase and the safety E85 adds

I heard E85 is corrosive, but this car being a BMW product I hear these cars can withstand the E85, however I'm not too sure on what we have to replace to be 100% safe. For example the BMW 135's and 335's only have to replace a short fuel line to be 100%. Not that its deterred me from running E85, I usually do a 25% mix as well.

Why does E85 add safety? New to this side.

E85 has additives to compensate for the drying effect of alcohol. Also modern fuel systems should be able to take up to a 50% e85 mixture with no problem.
