Mine is Euro spec as well. I have the Akropovic and with the 30" resonator removed the exhaust is far too loud. However I now have a 12" perforated resonator and the sound is great. You can drive sedately and hardly notice, but kick it in the guts, it farts, pops ,burbles, bangs and roars.

And you have it the other way around, most systems are 2.5....thats the general consensus around here.

Only one that are 3in that I can think of off the top of my head are Alta and the DDM one.....not many ppl use either of those.
I'm not sure I like the tips on the Invidia, they're almost 4", seem a little big.
The Miltek, Invidia, NM exhausts are 2.5" and the DDM, Magnaflow, and Alta are 3" - so, I guess I was just looking at the wrong ones. About 50/50ish.

So, Invidia is a sure deal? For $620, I could pick that thing up this month.

Myself and Porthos both agree, Invidia.

Look on the forums for photos, the tips fill in the rear valence very nicely. Everytime I see another Mini with stock exhaust I laugh because it looks sooooo puny and weak lol

What's a good alternative to the Riss downpipe, given its lack of production and relative rarity on the used front?

The akrapovic seems to be the name toted, but it costs more than twice as much without really seeming to be worth the extra.

Thanks, I've been checking around - some folks have them stick out pretty oddly, but some have managed to get the tips flush with the boot/valance. It looks pretty clean on those.

I've also noticed quite a few people are getting the resonator removed... I'm not exactly sure I trust someone cutting the nice new exhaust and chopping some straight pipe in, so I'll probably give it a shot with the resonator on and make a deciding factor there.

I'm more of a louder person, though. Hopefully resonator on gives it enough throat/tone/noise.

Way Motor Works makes a catless downpipe.

I have the Akra downpipe and love it. They're reliable and trust that nothing will even crack or leak.

But as an alternative, had AR Design introduced their downpipe a lot earlier than before I got the full Akra turbo back system I would have gone with the AR Design catless downpipe. They've been making parts for the BMW side of the business for years now and make really top quality parts so or me it's a trusted brand.

I'm guessing the one with a resonator is there catless one? I've never seen that for a catless downpipe. Normally there's nothing there.

If I wasn't such a cheap bastard I would buy the Akra, all their stuff is just art and sounds amazing. I bought a bunch of bolt-ons including a OBX DP+Exhaust and after driving it for the first time last week I couldn't be happier. It was between that or getting the exhaust shop to make a 3" with a small muffler. I will toss the Go-Pro on it and get a sound clip for you guys.

I really wanted to get the Akrapovic. Saw a couple of em used in the marketplace but gone after a few weeks before I can scrape up some extra $$$. I looked into the AR Design like ra2fanatic but a fellow NAMer reached out and I ended up getting a new Evolve de-cat DP for less than the cost of my CAI. Haven't installed yet but I'll let you guys know what I think once its on.

Man that's a freakin deal compared to these other DP's on the market. I'm jumping on this, I could care less if I'm still under warranty lol

Haha might as well get an RMW tune while I'm at it lol.

So the resonator is just there for sound and not causing much restriction right?
Still a bit odd to me as there is never anything there when its catless ha
