Please help!! Spacers info
I recently lowered my car and now I am thinking about installing spacers. I was looking at 15mm H&R spacers for the rear and 10mm for the front.
My friend told me that I should find spacers this studs so that I can install myself but i cant find any!
Please help, I would get the H&Rs but I want to Install myself. If my friend is right then I would have to look into other options?
Can someone give me some feed back if they have H&Rs and how was it to install. Or if there are any other better options. IF you have pics please post them I would like to see.
P.s. if you have any info on anything spacer related please share. Thanks everyone!!

A few things to think about when adding spacers.
- You should have plenty of room in the front, it is in the rear that rubs with spacers.
I would suggest at least the same size spacer in front as in the rear. So your your plan I would suggest 15 front and rear instead of 10 front and 15 rear.
- Your car has 14mm diameter lug bolts so make sure the spacers can accept that large of a bolt through the holes. Minis previously had 12mm bolts. Thus make sure that the spacers you get have at least 14mm holes. My H&R spacers had to be drilled, so call H&R or Tuner to make sure that H&R increased the hole size for Mini Cooper application. I know the WMW spacers accept 14mm bolts.
- You will need longer lug bolts or to switch to studs. I started with longer bolts then swirched to studs. 14mm longer bolts can be hard to find in black.
Longer lug bolts are available from a place such as:

Spacers and Studs conversions are available from places such as:

If you get the Alta spacers with bolts, I suspect the bolts are gray/silver in color instead of black. If you do not need black bolts you are good to go.
I wanted black bolts but could only find gray bolts so I painted the bolts, however the paint started coming off from the socket rubbing the edges during torqueing. I then removed the paint and powder coated the bolts but again the paint started coming off. I then went with the stud conversion and lug nuts.

I bought my 16mm spacers from North American Motorsports and they came with the correct lugs. No rubbing on stock 17" rubber and ST coilovers. In order to secure the spacer, you will need a T50 torx bit to remove the OEM fastener that secures the rotor to the hub. My spacers also came with the allen bolts to secure the spacers to the hubs - one bolt per hub. As someone suggested, you don't necessarily have to secure the spacers, but not doing so was a pain for me since they moved every time I removed the wheels.

Call up ECS Tuning and get the 15mm H&R all around from them. They are hubcentric with the same hub lip for the wheel as the actual hub. They will get you the longer bolts too. You can get the bolts in black or silver. Great pricing and fast shipping.
There is nothing to it. Pull off wheel - line up spacer to hub - put wheel back on and line up the holes - insert new longer bolts. Same thing as normal really. I needed 12mm to 15mm for my BBK up front so I just did 15mm all the way around. It looks really good and flush now.
