R56 DDMWorks exhaust - Opinions?
I've been digging around the forum and found little information regarding the DDMWorks exhaust, am I missing something or is this relatively new to the market?
It looks light weight, simple, and well constructed but I was hoping to get some input on cabin drone considering the lack of a resonator/cat/etc.
Can anyone speak from experience and shed their opinion on the system?

What kind of drone (if any) are you getting compared to stock?

A couple things....
I agree with Countryboyshane and Way from Way Motor Works that 3" is just to big for the engine. However..... DDM talks of their "front transition piece" to step up the pipe from the DP to their 3" tube. Seems that this (and that you aren't talking about replacing the down pipe) contradicts the free flow you're wanting.
If Countryboyshane is happy with it you should be too.

I replaced my entire exhaust system all at the same time, so the downpipe went to a Riss Racing catless 2.5" downpipe and then connected to the DDMWorks exhaust. So right there we can't make a good comparison to your MINI.
The other thing you need to take note of is that the N18 equipped MINIs have a different exhaust tone and resonance than the older N14 equipped R56 MINIs like I have. I have heard from some new MINI owners they thought the DDMWorks was too loud but let me tell ya, they should ride in my car with my stripped rear interior
"Drone" is a very subjective topic. If I were you, I'd call up someone like Way (Way Motor Works) or Chad (Detroit Tuned) and ask them what kind of feedback they are getting from customers with different aftermarket exhausts for N18 equipped R56s. Those guys deal with all kind of different customers every day so it's the best source of information about drone. The DDMWorks is highly recommended and seems to be the hot exhaust in our local MINI club, but again drone and loudness are subjective things.

Dark, if you have any questions about VIP, call them. Great guys. Have you considered a DP? A little more $$ but it gets it all done at once. As I've said above, I went Akrapovic along with their Delete R to keep CELs away. Again, deep bass sounds with little/no drone. Sweet!
Let us know what you go with.

Figured I'd update this thread.
Ended up going with the DDM exhaust, they had a great sale going on about a month ago.
Installed really easily even though its all slip fit piping and required little to no effort lining up the tips.
Sounds great, fairly quiet at idle, mild around town under 3k and light throttle, lots of drone over 3k but it's to be expected with no resonator.
Overall I'm very pleased with everything.

just grabbed this for my 2013 R56, but it's not here yet. You discussed the sound mot being too bad. Do you have the secondary cat option?
Looking at the photos it looks as if it's just a straight pipe to the muffler? yes? no primary cat, resonator, nothing? Is that correct?
