Reading this thread made me wonder if anyone has an opinion about the likelihood of the 19% pulley causing the water pump to fail vs. the risk with 15%.

Any thoughts?

19% pulley at stock redline equals the same supercharger (and water pump) RPM with 15% and 7200 RPM (for the Evotech and Powerchips ECU's)

Bottom line: as long as you're running stock redline, you have no worries.

So you don't think his pulley had anything to do with his water pump failure?

He had the JCW.

The JCW software has the same redline as stock S ECU. That, combined with the 13.8 redux on the JCW pulley, should not have been the cause of the failure. Unless he keep it at the rev limiter for a half hour.

If my math is correct, the JCW is a 14% reduction. Stock 2.57, 15% = 2.18 and if JCW is 2.21, then that is 14% even.
