Even before the JB+ was put on, I was getting up to 220 and some days in the summer it'll idle up to 230 in traffic but that's normal in stop and go. Other than that, id check to see how long the fan stays on.

Yes what engine you guys have? I have the N18 in a coupe S, and always in sport mode, just didn't have my gauge to tell me temps until after I already had tune on and want to be sure what normal operating temps are for this engiine.

N18 is from 2011+. All do the 180 deg mode but triggered differently. 2011-2012: only with AC max fan, max cold and certain engine loads. Sport button: no effect. 2013 S's can trigger it with the sport button (2013 JCW always 180 regardless of sport button).

Yes I believe it started with the N18 JCW's, MINI did improve them by lowering the operating temperatures.

Bowing Out
I am saddened to report that I have parted with the MINI - for completely unrelated reasons to its "wellbeing" (financial, on my part, was the impetus) - I was going to plug my FS thread (nice items (I no longer need) related to this thread, lol) but it's already SOLD.
(MINI drivers are fast!!)
Anyway my parting comment might be for someone reading this thread and on the fence about the JB+
As has been reiterated countless times, by myself too - GET IT.
It is a stellar product.

What car will you buy now?

Yeah - the money into it (+ potential $ in), plus the standard CostOfOwnership, it didn't work out in the big picture, unfortunately, c'et la vie.
I got a brand new 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, it's the modern Mini the MINI didn't feel like replicating...?
It was a good time on this forum, lots-o-good folk, peace dudes.

Highly recommended. It is also recommended to turn the JB+ down to 11'oclock for the JCW/GP2. The CAN tool is discontinued.

FYI, I found out with the CAN tool hooked up my car would not allow emissions tests to complete. Luckily I found this out before an inspection was due.
As long as I had it hooked up my O2 and CAT tests were not ready. took CAN tool off and some miles down the road and all was ready, hooked it back up and not ready again.

I'm not sure what octane levels you are trying to achieve. But a 20% mix is 2.6 gallons based on a 13.2 gallon tank.

It's nearly the same as mixing ethanol. Hell, some people mix in toluene. Make sure that you mix it in the correct ratios to keep you from going lean. People use E85 because it is convenient (at the same gas station) and cheap. Methanol where I live is ~$6/gallon (so not terribly expensive).

Ive been using torco for awhile but im at my last can, and i dont really want to buy another case because shipping to Canada was pretty steep.
There is no e85 where i live and my buddy just told me the other day where i can get methanol. Should be the cheapest option for me.
So basically i should follow the procedure as adding ethanol?
